POSITION
Sotheby's Institute of Art is seeking an adjunct faculty member to teach a course in the MA or Online Premier program for the upcoming term. Adjunct Faculty instructors are responsible for course planning and instruction in classroom or off-site locations. Courses may be conducted in various delivery modes, such as face-to-face, online, hybrid and/or blended formats. In addition, adjunct faculty are responsible for student evaluations, and timely and accurate submission of required paperwork related to instruction.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
Candidates must have a strong, demonstrated knowledge of art history, the art market and/or other facets of business and art related to our curricula. Terminal degree or equivalent experience required.
Preferred
Experience teaching online or in person for higher education. Candidate should have excellent written, verbal, and digital communication, computer, and organizational skills. Experience working with online students of all demographics is desirable. An understanding of learning management systems helpful.

Qualifications:
Teaching and experience are at the core of being an effective adjunct faculty member, so experience teaching in higher education in the field of sport management or sport business, in addition to industry experience are highly valued. For all ranks, a master's degree in the discipline of interest or a related field is required.
Experience using the Canvas learning management software (LMS) is preferred, as is experience delivering content remotely via Webex, Zoom, VoiceThread, Panopto and related technology. Candidates with little or no experience using LMS or remote meeting software must be willing to learn how to use these technologies as part of their pedagogy.
Responsibilities:
Adjunct faculty work under the direct supervision of the Division Chair. Once assigned a course or courses, they are expected to:
· Prepare and distribute to students a course outline in accordance with the course syllabus.
· Develop instructional materials (lectures, readings, assignments, exams, projects, etc.) that will achieve the learning outcomes as stated in the course syllabus.
· Evaluate student performance throughout the semester and provide periodic and constructive feedback to students in a reasonable timeframe.
· Be available to engage with students outside the classroom by email, phone, web conferencing, or face-to-face meetings.
· Evaluate student performance and post final grades for each student within the timeframe required by the Provost's Office and be available for two weeks after the semester concludes to discuss final grades with students by email or phone.
· Promptly respond to requests for information before, during, and after the course as required by the Division Chair and the CCPS Dean's Office.

Environmental Science - to teach Meteorology, Earth Science, Environmental Science and Geography courses in-person at the Union or Kean Ocean campus. Courses may have a lab component.
All adjunct positions are non-tenure track. They require a master's degree in a related field and teaching experience unless otherwise indicated; candidates with an ABD, Ed.D., Ph.D. or other acceptable disciplinary doctorate are encouraged to apply. Proficiency in a Learning Management System is required, consistent with University guidelines.
Adjunct faculty teaching one three (3) or four (4) credit class shall provide at least one (1) hour of availability outside of the classroom per week for the duration of each semester/session taught by the adjunct faculty member. An additional thirty (30) minutes of availability shall be provided for each additional class taught during the semester/session. Availability may be in person or virtual and shall be scheduled by the adjunct faculty member, taking into account student needs. Adjunct faculty teaching fewer than three (3) credits shall provide at least thirty (30) minutes of availability outside of the classroom per week for the duration of each semester/session taught by the adjunct faculty member. Regardless of the number of credits an Adjunct faculty member is teaching, they may, at their discretion, provide additional office hours beyond the amounts required.
Kean University Adjuncts are paid in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement:
Effective September 2024, the rate of pay is: $1,975 per credit.
Effective September 2025, the rate of pay is: $2,100 per credit.
Effective September 2026, the rate of pay is: $2,225 per credit.
Beginning in their 13th semester taught, Adjuncts receive an additional $75 per credit.

About This Role
Kansas State University seeks a dynamic and collaborative leader to serve as teaching professor (open rank) and program director for the Global Food Systems Leadership (GFSL) secondary major. This interdisciplinary program equips students from diverse academic backgrounds to address complex global challenges in food systems through leadership, systems thinking, and community engagement.
The successful candidate will provide instructional excellence and program leadership and administration to advance GFSL's mission of preparing students to exercise leadership for the common good in global food systems.
Responsibilities:
Instruction (60%)
* Teach core GFSL courses in online, asynchronous and in-person formats, including:
* GENAG/LEAD 225: Fundamentals of Global Food Systems Leadership
