About the Fellowship
This ELPC-Hubbell Environmental Law Initiative is a one-year, full-time position with the potential for a further year's extension. This fellowship is in conjunction with the University of Iowa Hubbell Environmental Law Fellowship. This fellowship is exclusively available to recent law school graduates of the University of Iowa, including judicial clerks, or early-career attorneys who are committed to advancing environmental protection, climate action, and equitable solutions to pressing environmental challenges. The position will be based at our office in Des Moines, with a hybrid work environment. The Fellow will work as a fully integrated member of ELPC's legal and policy team, gaining hands-on experience in environmental litigation, regulatory advocacy, and strategic policy initiatives.

Responsibilities
Fellows will work closely with senior attorneys, policy experts, and scientists on high-impact projects such as:
Conducting legal and factual research to support litigation and advocacy.
Drafting legal documents including briefs, motions, petitions, and comment letters.
Engaging with clients, community partners, and coalitions.
Supporting legislative and regulatory advocacy at the federal, state, and local levels.
Analyzing emerging environmental and climate issues to identify potential legal strategies.

Qualifications & Experience
J.D. degree (or equivalent) earned Spring 2024 or later; must be licensed to practice law or expecting to sit for the bar in a relevant jurisdiction.
Demonstrated commitment to environmental, climate, and/or public interest law.
Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
Experience in litigation, administrative law, or environmental policy preferred but not required.

Position Summary:
The East St. Louis Power Building Fellow will lead WEPOWER's organizing, coalition development, and campaign strategy for the East St. Louis region. This role strengthens the base of community members, parents, and local leaders committed to improving early childhood outcomes and advancing racial and economic justice. The Fellow co-leads coalition spaces, facilitates leadership development, manages the full organizing cycle, and ensures East St. Louis members are connected, informed, and mobilized. Summer Academy has long been the keystone of Thrive Scholars' Six-Year Program, offering a signature summer experience through intensive college-preparatory courses taught by college instructors. Thrive's current strategic direction builds on the success of our residential Summer Academy to expand our impact by establishing commuter-based Academies in cities across the United States. We launched our first two commuter programs in Los Angeles and New York City in 2024 and Chicago in 2025, while simultaneously continuing to offer the residential Summer Academies for Scholars who do not have an academy in their community. The Opportunity
As a producer, you'll play an important role in helping us to find and capture the same kinds of stories Fred did. After successfully completing the program, you'll be offered a full-time newscast producing position at one of our stations. You'll be paid approximately $769 per week during the 12-week program and will be responsible for your own housing. The station where the fellow will train will assist in identifying local housing.
How to Qualify
You need to have demonstrated an interest in and ability to produce news, either for television, radio or online.
Excellent writing skills, a demonstrated ability to produce a newscast, and a good base of editorial judgement are important.
You also need to have a strong academic record, and two recommendations from faculty or internship supervisors.
You must be completing your senior year of college or graduate school, and be graduating in May 2025.
You must be willing to spend up to 12 weeks post-graduation at a Hearst Television station of the company's choosing and be willing to relocate to an appointed employing Hearst station after finishing the program.

Postdoctoral position in cell-associated immunology
The Ferris lab at Saint Louis University in St. Louis, MO, is seeking a full-time postdoctoral research associate in the fields of tumor immunology and autoimmunity. We study the dendritic cells required to mount adaptive T cell responses in the context of tumors and autoimmunity to better understand tumor evolution and identify novel therapeutic strategies that can improve patient outcomes. The successful candidate will be highly motivated and intellectually invested. They will have the opportunity pursue their own ideas that are relevant to the overall goals of the lab and drive their own research projects.
Dr. Ferris is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Molecular Microbiology and Immunology. MMI houses a diverse variety of research groups studying virology and innate and adaptive immune responses in the context of viral infection, cancer, and autoimmunity. MMI is a highly collaborative community, meaning the successful candidate will have the opportunity to form relationships with many different laboratory groups and faculty members.

Critically analyze relevant published literature

Minimum qualifications:
Applicants should hold a PhD in a biologic field and have a first-author publication history in peer-reviewed journals to demonstrate research success.

Experience with R and/or the analysis of sequencing data sets
