JOB DESCRIPTION:
Summary:
In this role, you will conduct field investigations and client interviews to determine work scope and cost estimates for a project's control systems aspects.
You will design, develop, modify, and evaluate of ICT-Telecommunication components and processes.
Your recommendations will resolve technical issues and ensure unique and complex requirements of a project's ICT-Telecommunications aspects are met.
This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and may require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project.
Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership #LI-MJ1
Major Responsibilities:
Plans and conducts independent Telecommunications work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application and adaptation of Telecommunications engineering techniques, procedures and criteria on a medium size project or assignment in support of a global business unit
Supports the design, development, modification and evaluation of telecommunication components and processes utilizing relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards and guides, and the Standard Application Programs.
Communicates complex technical issues and recommends solutions to upper management
Develops conceptual designs for Telecommunications engineering projects or projects having specialized or unique requirements
Supports preparation of estimates, staffing needs and schedules
Interprets new or special regulations, codes, standards, criteria, and performance data
Coordinates with client representatives, as directed, to obtain their approval of Telecommunications aspects of the work
Conducts or leads special studies of new Telecommunications engineering methods, materials and techniques
Provides input to and participates in special technical educational and training programs as directed
Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:
RCDD certification preferred
Knowledge of systems, equipment, applications of design methods, materials, and computers for preparation of analyses and development of project design deliverables within the ICT-Telecommunication discipline.
Knowledge and understanding of technical and cost issues related to selection of design features within the ICT-Telecommunication discipline.
Knowledge of developing ICT-Telecommunications Network Topology, DAS, Data Center development, OSI Model, rack development and Horizontal distribution as it relates to ICT-Telecommunications.
Knowledge in use of industry standard software (CAD, REVIT, Navisworks, Microsoft Suites) is desirable.

This position reports directly to the Director of Yorkforce. The Director of Yorkforce will provide direction and support to the Sr. FieldEngineer. The Sr. FieldEngineer will help determine best strategy for remediation of any variation to client requirements and/or technical variables which may inhibit successful completion of any project or effort. The Director of Yorkforce will also support the Sr. FieldEngineer on career development and escalation issues.
Roles & Responsibilities
Communicate to stakeholders, any client, site and/or project specific issues, make recommendations to the PMO in regard to such issues and ensure agreed upon resolution of issues.
Regularly communicate answers to complex questions and respond to detailed inquiries regarding technical issues and the resolutions thereof.
Handles and is expected to protect all internal and external confidential information and must utilize discretion and judgment based on company policies and procedures.
Communicate daily technical and site specific information to the project team in a comprehensive, thorough and detailed manner.
Daily interaction with clients and job sites to document customer requirements and job site conditions.
Provide any and all post installation documentation, including red lined drawings, network information, MAC addresses, etc... back to Project Management.
Be capable of working effectively and efficiently with support from other members of the engineering team.
Maintain complete and accurate project documentation and records.
Communicate effectively with internal staff, client representatives, cooperative trades and subcontractors.
Daily oversight of subcontractors and other installation engineers.
Be responsible for successfully completing assignments on time and within budget and communicate effectively to the project team if budget and/or timeline is in jeopardy.
Conform to company technical standards and practices.
Correctly interpret multiple formats of technical specifications; schematic drawings and architectural diagrams.
Knowledge of and adherence to Yorktel policies and procedures.

Technical Job Responsibilities:
Lead the installation, replacement and/or configuration of integrated system components, networked Video Conferencing Codecs, networked A/V Control Systems and networked Audio DSP Devices
Test and commission the final installation of entire system prior to Client handover including proper installation, set-up, calibration and operation of DSP-based audiovisual components and networked AV control systems
Daily communication with the Project Management Team of project status including immediate communication of any issues which may impact successful, timely completion of project
Audio system calibration, including AEC and RF systems
Display calibration for color, EDID and others.
Perform hands on Client training upon completion of project
Ensure Customer Acceptance Form is signed and sent back to Project Management upon Client sign off of job completion
Ensure all ‘red lined' engineering drawings are completed and returned upon completion of project.
Provide post-installation support in transition to Yorktel tech services departments
