This position has a three-year duration, with an anticipated end date of Sept 30, 2028. The BD family is seeking responsible and committed people to join our team of professional FieldService resources for the remediation support of the BD Medication Management solutions (MMS) automated dispensing segment. The BD Pyxis brand combines proven technology with actionable intelligence to prevent medication errors, help free up clinician time to focus on patient care, increase the predictability of medication availability and reduce inefficiencies in the medication use process. Our goal is to deliver an excellent service experience so interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills are a must. Additionally, the FieldService resource is responsible for collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand and be sensitive to our customer and business needs from end to end.
The FieldService resource is a remote field-based position with frequent travel to our customer locations. Ideal candidates will reside within an hour of a major airport. Valid driver's license is required.
Responsibilities:
* Provide remote and on-site technical support for BD Pyxis automated dispensing systems located within hospitals and other healthcare facilities within the region and in accordance with our customer support agreements to include DHA/DoD facilities.
* Perform remediation, configuration, and updates for medical devices, software, and networking systems.
* Conduct routine checks to verify proper functionality after setup.
* Troubleshoot device and network issues, resolving technical problems independently or escalating complex cases.
* Provide customer-focused technical support in a professional, responsive, and resourceful manner.
* Provide accurate and timely documentation that details field activity, expenses, time distribution and other information as required
* Maintain compliance with hospital vendor credentialing requirements.
* Follow calibration protocols for servicing equipment.
* Maintain company assets (car, tools, and inventories) securely and in working order
* Possess and maintain a solid understanding of corporate and service department procedures and policies, including customer complaint handling and Medical Device Reporting.
* Able to work independently and in a team environment, and engage/call out to team leadership for sophisticated solving and resolution of issues as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
* High School diploma
* Ability to travel extensively for field-based service assignments.
* 1+ year of technical experience required.
* Prior military experience in electronics or IT roles are encouraged to apply.
* Strong troubleshooting abilities in electronics, mechanics, and electromechanical systems.
* Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
* Must live within one hour of a major airport for travel efficiency.
Preferred:
* Associate degree in biomedical, IT, electronics, or a related field preferred.
* Prior experience in government or VA/DoD healthcare systems strongly preferred.
* Experience in IT support, electronics, biomedical engineering, or pharmacy technology is a plus.

Job Requirements:
* Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and perform physical tasks such as pushing, pulling, bending, and standing for extended periods.
* Must maintain personal parts inventory, sourcing from approved vendors.
* Open availability Monday-Friday; work occurs ~30 hours per week, plus travel time.
* Position requires some nights and weekends based on customer needs.
* Travel is regional, national, and local, with work scheduled primarily during weekdays.
* Duties may require compliance with hospital vaccine and credentialing requirements.

Role
The Fiber Splicer position will splice & test fiber optic cables in aerial, underground, and indoor physical field environments. The position will need to have attention to detail regarding setting up splice locations, termination points, splice quality, work environment safety and general fiber optic construction. This position will be subject to on-call and shift duties. Weekends and holiday work will also be required.
Responsibilities
Splicing on new construction and restoration for a variety of cable types (Loose Tube, Ribbon, Micro, OPGW, etc). Active splicing activity in cables with both dark fiber and lit services.
Conduct and validate all testing of network equipment to ensure adherence to all Crown Castle Fiber procedures and equipment manufacturer's specifications.
Work with the Network Operations Center for final acceptance and testing of all newly installed equipment and rings. Tests to include validation of all provisioning, all alarm monitoring to the NMS (Network Management System), network switch protection, etc.
Work with Fiber Optic, SONET, Ethernet and SDH related test equipment including OTDR, PMD, Optical Spectrum Analyzer, BER Test Sets, Sniffers.
Perform site survey of remote locations to ensure quality installation of all racks, equipment power plants, fiber cable, etc. Report any and all defects to the Operations Manager and /or OSP Project Engineer.
Label and tag all equipment and cabling according to Network Engineering Diagrams.
Perform advanced analysis and troubleshooting of problems / issues while assisting the NOC/customer.
Participate in on-call rotation schedule for nights and weekends.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as required and assigned.
Perform both hardware and software updates and/or changes to remote site equipment as necessary.
Complete and maintain hard copy and/or electronic records of work completed on various assignments. Including, but not limited to, splice diagrams, patch panels, and test results.
Interface with customers and carriers in support of service delivery and assurance.
Work independently for extended periods of time.
Respond to Customer Troubles on 24-hour basis.
Work closely with the NOC, Sales, Engineering, and customers.

Experience/Minimum Requirements
One (1)+ years of experience in the splicing, testing, installation, maintenance and repair of fiber optic networks and/or Outside Plant fiber experience. Or minimum of two (2) years of field experience or military experience.
Prefer prior work experience with base station equipment, NMS, equipment installation and maintenance, low-power broadcast equipment and experience in both the construction, installation and maintenance phases
Prefer prior use of Volt/Ohm meter, RF power meter, frequency sweep equipment, spectrum analyzer, fault locating equipment and battery conductance meters
Knowledge of Outside Plant Construction techniques (aerial & underground) preferred
Working knowledge of NESC, NEC and OSHA standards preferred
Experience splicing ribbon and loose tube cables.

Compensation
The pay range offered for this position is $32.12-$44.13 per hour. Details: The Lead Fiber Splicer is responsible for the installation and maintenance of fiber optic cables. They work on lines, analyzing and optimizing their operation. Underground and aerial fiber optic splice/tester. Responsibilities:
Fusion splices SM ribbon and loose tube fiber optic cables, to initiate or terminate various types of fiber optic connectors (ST, SC, LC).
Occasionally leads crews, involving supervision of other employees.
Installs and tests pressurized and non-pressurized closures on all types and sizes of cable.
Analyzes and troubleshoots basic technical problems or issues.
Reviews, interprets, and works with various maps, drawings, blueprints and testing documents.
Performs daily testing and maintenance of splicing and testing equipment.
Performs optical continuity and conformance testing.
Makes splicing rearrangements on existing facilities in underground, aerial and building work locations.
Adheres to company policies, regulations, procedures, and principles.
All other duties as required.
Details: Technical Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years on the job experience
Working knowledge of using various fusion splicing and optical testing equipment including, Alcoa Fujikura, GN Net Test, EXFO, Fitel, Sumitomo, and Viavi.
Basic understanding of Outlook, Excel and Word.
Ability to read, review, interpret and understand technical documents and blueprints.
Ability to climb and work at elevations (e.g., from ladders, poles, lift trucks, etc.).
Ability to work in confined spaces.
Solid organizational skills.
Safety-conscious.
Able to travel.
Flexible schedule, with hours of day and days of week.
Compensation: $25.00-30.00/hr
