Job Responsibilities
* Complete weekly/daily creation of signs, posters, tags, banners and other promotional message vehicles as necessary/appropriate to allow customers to shop the store well.
* Act as an on-site expert on visual communication and on how to support/enhance visual merchandising with graphics and/or visual materials.
* Work well within all stages of the design process, from rapid idea generation through management of precise execution.
* Analyze the Guest Satisfaction Survey and Team Member Point of View Survey to identify areas needing improvement and develop processes and/or procedures to address those issues.

A Day in the Life of an Environmental Graphic Designer II
As an Environmental Graphic Designer at Toole, you will be a part of our growing Graphic Design team, working collaboratively with urban designers, landscape architects, planners, and engineers to help users successfully engage with the built environment. You will bridge the gap between 2D and 3D design, using your knowledge of visual communication to help users understand and navigate their environments successfully, as well as helping public clients envision possibilities for their streets, trails, and transit stations. This role is primarily focused on wayfinding for bicycle networks, walkable urban districts, parks, and transit stations, with a possibility to help grow our work in placemaking more generally. You will have the opportunity to work on stakeholder outreach and design workshops, concept plans, design guidelines, wayfinding strategies, branding, signage, and map design, including deliverables ranging from presentations and reports to design intent documents and final artwork. Depending on workload and the selected candidate's skillset, this role may also support more general graphic design or visualization deliverables such as report design, engagement materials, or renderings. We are looking for someone who can lead the design of standalone wayfinding projects, or lead EGD tasks within larger trails and urban design projects.

• Order essential items on Amazon at the Sound Designer's request.
• Find and create sound effects for production.
• Set up the QLab file for rehearsals and the performances.
• Take notes at the designer's request during Designer run(s), Tech, and Opening night.
Requirements:
• Current college student, or recent grad who has an interest in sound design or technical theater.
• Should express a passion for the technical side of theater.
• Must have a high level of organizational and communication skills.
• Demonstrate excellent organizational, time management and communication (written and oral)
skills.
• Basic computer literacy is a must, with knowledge of Outlook, Google Drive and Dropbox
software preferred.
• A working knowledge of QLab is beneficial.

A Day in the Life of an Environmental Graphic Designer II
As an Environmental Graphic Designer at Toole, you will be a part of our growing Graphic Design team, working collaboratively with urban designers, landscape architects, planners, and engineers to help users successfully engage with the built environment. You will bridge the gap between 2D and 3D design, using your knowledge of visual communication to help users understand and navigate their environments successfully, as well as helping public clients envision possibilities for their streets, trails, and transit stations. This role is primarily focused on wayfinding for bicycle networks, walkable urban districts, parks, and transit stations, with a possibility to help grow our work in placemaking more generally. You will have the opportunity to work on stakeholder outreach and design workshops, concept plans, design guidelines, wayfinding strategies, branding, signage, and map design, including deliverables ranging from presentations and reports to design intent documents and final artwork. Depending on workload and the selected candidate's skillset, this role may also support more general graphic design or visualization deliverables such as report design, engagement materials, or renderings. We are looking for someone who can lead the design of standalone wayfinding projects, or lead EGD tasks within larger trails and urban design projects.
The Graphic Design team is currently distributed across our Portland, Seattle, Madison, Minneapolis, Raleigh, and Los Angeles offices. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams across Toole Design's 19 offices across the US, with emphasis on projects located in their region.
We are targeting a salary range of $67,000 to $76,000 for this position with flexibility for well qualified candidates.
Work Schedule for an Environmental Graphic Designer II
This full-time position typically works a flexible schedule of 40 hours a week and will work from our office location Tuesdays through Thursday. We also provide employees with the flexibility and necessary equipment to work from home 2 days per week. The Pittsburgh office of Toole Design is conveniently located in Market Square, in the heart of Downtown. It is blocks from multiple bus routes, on the future BRT route, and near the Wood Street T stop. The office is easily accessed on foot, by bicycle, and via transit.

Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree in graphic design, industrial design, landscape architecture, or related field from an accredited college or university and/or comparable work experience in lieu of a degree
5+ years of experience in graphic design, industrial design, landscape architecture, or other related field
3+ years' experience in wayfinding, including the preparation of design intent drawings demonstrating knowledge of fabrication techniques, relevant building/planning codes, and human-centered design
