In this role, you will be responsible for all preconstruction activities on large food, beverage and consumer manufacturing projects, including developing preliminary budgets, value engineering, preconstruction schedules, procurement plan, prequalification of subcontractors, detailed take-off and estimating, definition of bid package scopes, the subcontractor/supplier bidding process, evaluation of bids, presentation of detailed estimates of the work, evaluation of alternatives and comparative studies. Job Responsibilities: * Pre-Estimate: * Participates in design review meetings * Reviews and monitors scope, cost, and constructability during design development * Participates or leads Estimate Plan meeting * Develops Estimate Plan with proposal leader and ensures proposal team is clear on strategy and expectations * Estimate Development: * When in the lead estimator role, leads team of estimators assigned to a proposal * Responsible for compiling work products from multi-disciplinary estimators into a single complete estimate * Ensures that the estimating team has the information necessary to develop their estimates * If information is lacking, is responsible for communicating the need to the proposal leader, design team, or customer, as required for that proposal * Manages RFI lists (subcontractor, internal, and/or owner), as required per proposal * Reviews proposal milestone dates with estimate team and tracks individual progress * Responsible for timeliness of estimate completion and communication to proposal leader and Director of Preconstruction, if deadlines are in jeopardy * Coordinates with the appropriate resources to determine the project specific tax and insurance requirements * Responsible for ensuring that clarifications are clear, complete, and compiled into a single document. The Mechanical Service Technician provides support to Power Design projects by performing Mechanical work within a specified region. In this role, you'll play a key role in subcontractor and vendor management, bid preparation, cost control, scheduling, and client interaction. Your responsibilities will also include: * Assists project directors in responding to RFP's including the preparation of conceptual estimates, schedules, and other proposal documents. Participates in client presentations if required * Monitors the progress of design documents. Manages the project schedule, conducts job site meetings and prepares updated schedules * Responsible for project cost control including updating labor cost reports, summary cost reports, and project status summaries * Coordinates requirements of governing authorities for permits, inspections, and final approval of the project with A/E * Maintains submittal control, including scheduling, receiving, reviewing, approving, and expediting submittals from suppliers and subcontractors to comply with the progress schedule * Manages client relations, including progress meetings, correspondence, periodic reports, change orders, and responses to client inquiries * Prepares requisitions for payment and other required project invoicing. Maximizes project cash flow through invoicing and collections * Prepares and secures owner acceptance of contract change orders. Issues modifications to subcontracts and purchase orders after owner acceptance and updates budget in the summary cost report * Manages payments to subcontractors and vendors, including reviewing and approving schedules of value, pay requisitions, invoices, and required insurance coverage * Manages subcontractor and supplier performance issues including documentation, default notices, and replacement, if necessary * Reviews and monitors project progress, quality and safety. The Mechanical Service Technician provides support to Power Design projects by performing Mechanical work within a specified region. This individual installs and repairs HVAC mechanical systems, fixtures, wiring, controls, and equipment as needed. Position Responsibilities Perform preventative and corrective maintenance when required, diagnosing and resolving any issues as they arise. Perform HVAC system start-up and commissioning Execute initial system start-up procedures and comprehensive commissioning tasks to ensure all HVAC components operate according to design specifications and industry standards, including system calibration, performance verification, and documentation of operational parameters. Ensure that all work adheres to contract scope and specifications; job site safety and security; and Power Design's values, policies and procedures. Provide superior customer service, developing customer relationships on a regular basis. Provide weekly status updates on warranty calls, small projects and service work, service tickets, labor requirements and material requirements. Work as an HVAC Technician on a designated job site when not answering service calls or performing maintenance. Perform other duties as assigned. Here's What We're Looking For Skilled HVAC Technician with at least five years of service experience required; ten years of related experience preferred. Proficient knowledge of the IECC, ICC, and ASHRAE Standards; local codes; and construction safety requirements EPA Certified OSHA 30 certification preferred. Active Journeyman or Master's HVAC license preferred Experience with office software required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, including Excel, Word and Outlook preferred.
