The Child Care Therapy Aide establishes effective relationships with children living in residential programs to provide structure and routine and to assist with managing challenging behaviors. Responsibilities:

Utilize appropriate techniques of behavior management and crisis interventions as indicated in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention guidelines; implement strategies to address escalating behaviors; i.e. time-out, discussion, conflict resolution
Complete required paperwork and reports in a timely manner
Complies with all agency policies and procedures

The Position

Provide World Class Dog Training Services
* Attend and successfully pass Petco's 6-week Dog Trainer Instructor Program led by a Petco Certified Dog Trainer Mentor/Academy Instructor.

Certification Requirements

Work is performed under the general supervision of the PACE Center Manager and RN Clinic Staff. Assists participants with their participation in activity programs at the PACE Center
Sets up PACE center for snacks and lunches
Set-up and clean-up program areas on a daily basis

Assist with progress reports and routine assessments and other pertinent records as requested

13. Maintains required records for individuals.

16. In addition to SCIP, Med & CPR certification, participates in mandatory in-service training specializing in positive approaches, calming techniques, diagnoses-specific training. May also be required to complete enhanced training from the College of Direct Support or similar institution.
17. Participates in staff meetings to become familiar with individual needs, service objective and method of assisting individuals to achieve objectives.
18. Completes individual assessments as assigned.
19. Assists with compliance of all pertinent regulations, policies and applicable laws.
