The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong technical knowledge and proven experience managing electrical crews in commercial environments. Key Responsibilities The Electrical Foreman plans and assigns daily work activities, supervises and trains field personnel, and coordinates manpower needs with project management. This position oversees the installation of electrical systems to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and applicable codes. The foreman coordinates inspections, identifies and reports conflicts or deviations, and assists with schedule and cost-related adjustments as required. Additional responsibilities include ordering materials and tools, managing deliveries, supervising material storage, and inspecting equipment and materials for compliance and defects. The Electrical Foreman enforces all company safety programs, conducts safety meetings, completes accident reports, and leads jobsite safety initiatives. This role also performs jobsite administrative duties such as timekeeping, cost coding, packing slips, and documentation. The Electrical Foreman serves as a primary field contact, working closely with project managers, general contractors, inspectors, vendors, manufacturers, and owner representatives to ensure proper installation and project execution. Supervisory Responsibilities This position supervises all field personnel within the assigned scope of work as directed by the Project Manager. Qualifications Candidates must possess a Journeyman or Master Electrician license and have completed a minimum of four years of formal apprenticeship training. The successful candidate must demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across all trades and levels of the organization. Extensive knowledge of electrical tools, equipment, and installation methods is required, along with the ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, wiring diagrams, and contract documents. Physical Requirements The Electrical Foreman must be able to perform physical tasks associated with active construction sites, including climbing ladders and scaffolding, working at heights, lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, crouching, and working overhead for extended periods. Normal vision and hearing are required, with or without correction. Work Environment This role is performed in active construction environments that may include noise, debris, uneven surfaces, and varying weather conditions. About the Role The Traveling Electrician - Journeyman performs installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical systems across NEEC's substation, industrial, and renewable energy projects nationwide. This role requires technical proficiency, attention to safety, and the flexibility to travel frequently to various project sites. The Journeyman works closely with engineers, foremen, and project managers to ensure all electrical work is completed efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with NEEC standards, the NEC, and OSHA regulations. Key Responsibilities Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems in substation and industrial environments. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to execute installations accurately. Perform electrical terminations, conduit bending, wiring, and equipment testing. Install and terminate fiber optic cables and related infrastructure. Collaborate with engineers and supervisors to meet project specifications and quality requirements. Adhere to NEEC safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment. Travel nationwide to various project sites, with per diem provided for travel assignments. Qualifications Minimum 3 years of electrical experience; experience in utility or industrial projects is a strong plus. Ability and willingness to travel nationwide for extended periods. Strong knowledge of NEC and OSHA standards. Ability to read and interpret complex electrical schematics and wiring diagrams. Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
