Job Description Under general supervision by the Working Supervisor, Inspector will provide inspections of municipal infrastructures (water system, sewage system, drainage system, streets, etc. and appurtenances to these systems) performed by City crews and private companies. Inspector will supervise all field testing and sample collection performed to check construction. Inspectors will provide technical support to the engineering, architectural, public utility and subdivision groups as required. The support will consist, but is not necessarily limited to submittal and/or preparation of associated paperwork, surveying, errands, and attendance at various meetings. The CBP Aircraft Quality Control Inspector is responsible for ensuring that assigned aircraft are maintained within required specifications of 14 CFR Parts 43, 91 and 125 and other FAA and DOD regulations, OEM instructions and CBP directives as required and are airworthy before operation. Principal Accountabilities: Inspect the work of Aircraft Mechanics performing maintenance repairs and modifies aircraft structures, aircraft engines, electrical, avionics and aircraft sub-systems. Apply technical knowledge and expertise in determining proper equipment installation and operation. Key Responsibilities - Truck & Railcar Inspections: Conduct thorough inspections of trucks and railcars, including structural integrity, safety compliance, and documentation verification - Cross-Functional Training: Participate in comprehensive cross-training programs in: - Railcar inspection protocols - Truck inspection procedures - Marine inspection operations (barge, vessel, and shore tank sampling) - Quality Assurance: Ensure all inspections meet Bureau Veritas standards and regulatory requirements - Documentation: Maintain accurate inspection records and reports in compliance with company procedures - Operational Support: Provide flexible support across multiple inspection areas to optimize team coverage and efficiency - Travel: Rotate between Brownsville and Harlingen locations as operational needs require Required Qualifications - High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred, TWIC CARD - Be able to work shift work. - Must be able to work in the elements - Ability to obtain and maintain relevant inspection certifications - Strong attention to detail and organizational skills - Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record - Willingness to participate in comprehensive cross-training programs - Ability to work independently and as part of a team - Physical capability to perform field inspections (climbing, lifting, standing for extended periods) --- Preferred Qualifications - Bilingual capabilities (English/Spanish) Compensation & Benefits Hourly Rate: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour (based on experience and qualifications) Why This Role? Tests and inspects product at various stages of production process and complies and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of product. Responsibilities Monitors sanitation and proper sanitation procedures. Inspects processing equipment to ensure it's completely sanitized prior to running production. Monitors specific processes assigned for each product, i.e., quality (grade), weight control, etc. Records test data applying statistical quality control procedures. Maintains and files test data records. Assists Production Dept. in meeting company specifications and government regulations. Notifies production supervisor and QC manager if samples are out of grade. Performs analysis for enzyme deactivation (Peroxidase/Catalyse). Checks and records blancher temperatures and retention time. Checks chlorine concentrations in waste line at chiller, sprayers, residual, etc. Checks and records net/drained weights. Checks scales to ensure calibration (accurate weight and balance). Inspects packaging, labels and coding to ensure compliance with customer specifications. Adheres to all company and facility policies, work rules, and procedures. Will don personal protective equipment (PPE) before commencing work. Follows all safety guidelines set forth by the Company. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent EXPERIENCE: Experience in food quality assurance or related field preferred, but not required. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Familiarity with HACCP, GMP, and statistical analysis preferred, but not required. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry LANGUAGE: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules/signs, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures
