Your Impact
The successful candidate must be able to work efficiently with little supervision while conducting inspections of erosion sediment control and stormwater BMPs in locations with little infrastructure. Other tasks may include, but may not be limited to:

What is an Occupancy Verification?
Mortgage lenders require periodic updates on their properties and to do this they send out independent contractors. The purpose of the property inspection is:
To verify property occupancy.
To report on the general condition of the property using a mobile application.
Most inspections are exterior only. About 10% require interior photos after the property has gone vacant.
We contract with inspectors at a county level. This means that you would be responsible to complete all inspections in your county. In some cases, you will split the county with another inspector if there is enough volume for two inspectors.
Responsibilities
Most common type of inspection should only take 5-6 minutes.
Complete the inspection within 4 days after it is assigned.
Report general property conditions and make a determination of occupancy based on industry standards.
Take 9+ photos of the property with brief comments.
Complete a short form in an app.
Requires being able to spend extended periods of time driving while making numerous stops during the day in the assigned territory.

Lower volume counties have higher rates and higher volume counties have lower rates. There is no set amount of inspections per month, but the work is consistent month-to-month.

RK&K's Construction Engineering Inspection and Construction Management Division is hiring Senior Construction Inspectors in and around the Salem, VA area. This role will primarily perform work in VDOT's Salem District, adjacent Districts as well as localities inclusive of Roanoke, Bedford, Martinsville, Christiansburg and Hillsville. As a Senior Construction Inspector with RK&K you will lead and strengthen our construction engineering and inspection business including highway, bridge, and design-build /design-build projects. Essential Function
Provide construction management support, including inspection and monitoring of construction of roadway and structures to ensure compliance with plans, specifications and safety regulations
Independently coordinate and directs all phases of construction inspection of projects, complicated by extensive traffic control, sensitive to the public or environmentally challenging, or require significant project coordination with property owners, utility companies, or local/federal government representatives
Ability to communicate effectively across different platforms with project management, clients, stakeholders, general public and contractors
Lead and monitor work products of a team of junior level inspectors and provide technical supervision
Lead and conduct project meeting with various project stakeholders
Interface with clients, state and federal agencies, and other engineering disciplines on construction projects
Fully engage in solving complex problems to provide technical evaluation and sound solutions
Monitor and document the activities of contractors. Communicate and document non-compliant work elements
Review lines, grades, dimensions, and elevations using standard survey and field engineering equipment
Review placement of various materials, tracks project materials testing frequencies and provides materials testing as required
Performs field measurements and tracks daily quantities of work items installed
Maintain comprehensive project records and reporting as required typically inclusive of daily reports, materials compliance tracking, pay quantity records, as-built plan records, EEO documents, change orders, and monthly payment vouchers.
Aid Construction Management staff with monitoring of project schedule, budget and development of change order and NOI analysis
Required Skills and Experience
Minimum seven (7) years of relevant experience in construction inspection, materials, standards, and specifications related to state highway projects and facilities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to compute basic mathematic formulas including algebra and geometry
Functional use of computer software including Microsoft suite and other construction documentation software
Experience overseeing junior level staff work products to ensure project requirements are achieved
Capable of working independently on small construction projects
Acceptable driving record

Job Duties
The Office of Licensure and Certification (OLC) in Richmond, Virginia is seeking full-time Medical Facilities Inspectors for the Piedmont Region's Long-Term Care Team. This position currently offers a sign-on bonus of $5,000 and 80 hours of front-loaded annual leave time with a one-year written agreement for external candidates.
This position is for the Long-Term Care unit and will require travel primarily in Piedmont. Cities include but not limited to: Charlottesville, Harrisonburg, Waynesboro, Lynchburg, Staunton, Lexington, South Boston, Chase City, Fork Union, Bedford, Appomattox, Louisa, Springfield, Arlington, Clifton Forge, Fishersville, Alta Vista, Low Morr, Bridgewater, Clifton Forge, Clarksville, Amherst, Standardsville, and Buena Vista
The primary purpose of the Medical Facilities Inspector for the Home Health and Hospice Team is to independently or as part of a team conducts inspections/surveys or reviews of health care facilities for the purpose of licensure and/or certification issuance, maintenance and/or renewal to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and promotion of quality health care practices. Conducts complaint investigations; compiles and evaluates information in determining degree of compliance; communicates findings orally and in writing; reviews and recommends approval, denial, or revisions to health care provider's plan; recommends plan of correction to supervisor when provider is not in compliance. May serve as information resource to health care providers. Position require travel.
Minimum Qualifications
• Specialized knowledge of health care systems and services, quality of care issues & health care administration
• Experience communicating orally and in writing in a clear, concise, and legally defensible manner; Experience managing multiple assignments independently.
• Experience assessing individual patient/resident medical care plans and outcomes, the overall quality of facility care and services, and to interpret and apply complex state/federal regulations to the findings
• If working in LTC and/or Complaint unit, must obtain SMQT Certification within 12 months of hire date. All MFIs must obtain medical clearance for fit testing in accordance with OSHA Respiratory Protection Standard (29 CFR 1910.134) [Ref.2] regulations within 90 days of hire date and annually with exception to Complaint Unit.
