Job Summary
Perform inspections of electrical control panels and equipment utilizing knowledge of UL 508A and the National Electric Code (NFPA 70).
Primary Job Responsibilities
Read, understand, and interpret electrical drawings.
Conduct documented inspections of control panels and equipment to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications and codes
Complete quality documentation as applicable to the inspection
Electrically and mechanically test, calibrate and perform various quality control and process control functions on finished product
Review customer provided electrical designs and specifications and turn them into packages necessary for equipment production.
Create bills of material in the ERP system
Review customer designs for compliance with UL 508 A and the National Electric Code, bringing any nonconformance's to the attention of the project manager.
Identify potential design, reliability and functionality issues and provide possible solutions that minimize impact on productivity, production schedules and or the customer.
Accurately estimate hours to complete production tasks.
Represent Wagstaff AT when interacting with auditors, customers, suppliers and visitors
Abide by company policies
In order to achieve business objectives, work weeks in excess of 40 hours may be required

Requirements:
Minimum of 4 years' experience as an industrial electrician.
Current journeyman electrician license preferred
Demonstrated working knowledge of UL 508A and the National Electric Code
Prior experience in electrical inspection preferred.

Working Environment
While performing the duties of this job, work is performed primarily in an adequately lit, well ventilated, climate controlled general office environment. Close computer work is regularly required. The work usually involves minimal physical exertion. The noise level in the general office environment is usually moderate.
This job may require occasional or more frequent interaction with employees on the manufacturing shop floor. While on the shop floor, the employee may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risks of moving equipment and parts, and other risks associated with a manufacturing environment. Because of this environment and associated risks, coordination with shop floor managers/employees may be necessary before entering the shop floor, and use of job appropriate personal protective equipment and clothing is required on the shop floor. The noise level on the shop floor is often loud.

What is an Occupancy Verification?
Mortgage lenders require periodic updates on their properties and to do this they send out independent contractors. The purpose of the property inspection is:
To verify property occupancy.
To report on the general condition of the property using a mobile application.
Most inspections are exterior only. About 10% require interior photos after the property has gone vacant.
We contract with inspectors at a county level. This means that you would be responsible to complete all inspections in your county. In some cases, you will split the county with another inspector if there is enough volume for two inspectors.

Most common type of inspection should only take 5-6 minutes.

Lower volume counties have higher rates and higher volume counties have lower rates. There is no set amount of inspections per month, but the work is consistent month-to-month.

Key Responsibilities:
Conduct special inspections on active job sites, including welding, bolting, reinforced concrete, and structural masonry.
Review project drawings and specifications to prepare for field inspections.
Drive to job sites and perform inspections in accordance with relevant building codes and contract documents.
Operate, calibrate, and maintain field and lab equipment as needed.
Accurately complete and submit electronic daily field reports with clear summaries of work performed and observations.
Maintain open, professional communication with project managers, engineers, and clients.
Ensure reporting and documentation meet all regulatory and company standards.
Provide excellent customer service and represent the company's values in the field.
May assist with limited project management tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of field testing or inspection experience required.
ICC, CWI, WAQTC, or other special inspection certifications required based on project needs.
Must have a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in dynamic field environments.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Work Environment:
Onsite and field-based role; involves frequent travel to construction sites.
Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow).
Physical activities include walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 lbs (75 lbs with assistance).
Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays during peak season (March-November).

Mortgage Property Inspection Overview:
Mortgage lenders require periodic updates on the properties they have financial interest in. The lender contracts with GIS to have inspectors go out to verify the property occupancy, report general property conditions, letter delivery/posting, vacant interior walk-through or insurance repair progress report. Majority of our inspections are basic exteriors where some do require contact by door knock or letter delivery. In addition, there will be some inspections which require interior access to secured/vacant properties and appointment-based insurance loss inspections.
Job Responsibilities:
Requires being able to spend extended periods of time driving
Efficient time management to route and complete inspections with an estimated 3-5 day turnaround time (this can vary) in your agreed territory

Full Job Description of the Loss Control Inspector:
· Receives assignments electronically and reviews for inspection requirements.
· Schedules the inspection appointment with the Insured by phone, email, or text.
· Inspects the property for potential issues or hazards pertaining to utilities/building systems (heating, wiring, plumbing), common areas, maintenance, protections, and life safety, etc. Take 20-35 exterior/interior photos. Take measurements with a measuring wheel or with online tools as needed.
· Interviews the Insured for operations information, ages of the building systems, etc.
· Communicates inspection status through online application.
· Completes the inspection report on the web-based Loss Control 360 system with Rapid Sketch. Returns the completed report electronically (the reports consist of check-off questions, narrative, and digital photos).
Preferred skills:
3-5 years' experience providing commercial insurance loss control inspections
Understanding of commercial property and casualty lines: property, general liability, and worker's compensation
Ability to work independently, manage your time effectively, and communicate well verbally and in writing
Comfortable completing reports online and uploading documents
