Assists with maintaining the cell skills matrix and iteration tracking. * Provides performance evaluation input to the Operations Managers for inspection team members. * Recognizes and understands flight/product safety critical parts and processes. * Responsible for immediately reporting any flight/product safety concerns. * Participates in pro-active risk analysis of flight/product safety critical parts and processes. * Updates and reports out on cost of poor quality. Leads and participates in identification of root cause and corrective actions. * Activity promotes CI, monitors progress within the cell and assists where required to ensure goals are met. * Acts as the primary liaison with engineering and other production personnel as required to troubleshoot, research, and solve technical problems. * Ensures all applicable safety requirements are followed and address any unsafe practices/conditions immediately. * Performs hands-on technical work based on existing qualifications attained as Detail and/or Quality Inspector. Inspects incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products to ensure materials and products meet specifications, regulatory requirements, and applicable drawings; conducts visual and measurement tests; documents and communicates rejections of unacceptable items and required corrections; ensures defective products are not delivered to the customer. Works collaboratively with production supervisors, team leads, and line assemblers to discuss inspection results and provides guidance as needed. Documents inspection results by completing inspection reports and checklists; communicates any violations of the quality process or adherence to job performance requirements to Production Supervisors and QC Manager. Maintains a good attendance record and proactively communicates and coordinates with supervisors regarding attendance. Keeps inspection and measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions and notifying management when repairs are necessary. Assists in maintaining and keeping tools, machinery, and work area clean and organized. Performs various other job duties as assigned and needed. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Must be 18 years of age. This can be a physically demanding job requiring the ability to lift 40+ pounds, to grip, work over head, pull at chest height, bend, stand, walk, kneel, crawl, push, pull, reach, climb and carry various materials and equipment. High school diploma and substantial experience in and clear understanding of the requirements and expectations across multiple production areas in a fabrication / manufacturing environment expected. Must have experience reading and interpreting schematics and excellent problem-solving skills. Experience in quality control Inspection preferred including building code knowledge, ability to gain an understanding of construction manuals, standards, regulations, and specifications regarding the products. Bilingual Spanish preferred. Ability to build effective relationships with fellow employees and supervisors including when providing constructive feedback and inspection results. Excellent written and oral communication skills required. Ability to handle multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail. Ability to work in a team, to be trained, and take direction. Job Description The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for all inspections performed to ensure compliance to approved data, Federal Aviation Regulations, the RSQCM, and/or data acceptable to the administrator. This is an experienced-level position with no supervisory responsibilities that reports to the Chief Inspector. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Ensures that no defective, unserviceable or un-airworthy parts are used on any components or articles released by Aspire. Ensures all fabricated parts are labeled and identified properly. Inspects work performed to ensure compliance. Performs receiving inspection functions as authorized and prescribed in the RSQCM. Accomplishes all necessary inspections of articles maintained by the repair station to ensure overall quality of workmanship and material used in the fabrication process. Notifies the Quality Control Supervisory Personnel in a timely manner of any quality concerns and items related to airworthiness that are not resolved through the normal course of the day; These items may be communicated by email, voice mail or documented in the Shift Turnover Log. Quality Control Inspectors will ensure that quality concerns and items related to airworthiness are addressed and tracked until resolution. Coordinates with the Inspection Supervisory Personnel to determine daily priorities of required inspection items. Demonstrates a thorough familiarity with all applicable FARs, company, and customer manuals applicable to their work assignments. Demonstrates a thorough familiarity with all necessary tooling, inspection aids and techniques to accomplish assigned tasks. Ensures all maintenance and alterations that are performed by the repair station are in compliance to the applicable technical data. When Aspire MRO requires working multiple shift operations Aspire MRO supervisory personnel shall ensure the Shift Turnover Report (PD-Form-3) clearly communicates any pertinent information and maintain communication and continuity from shift to shift. Airframe & Power Plant license 5+ years of related heavy maintenance experience on commercial aircraft (B737, B757, B757, B777, A330, etc.).
