In this position you will work with experienced technicians to learn: * Basic electrical theory. * To read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical manuals. * Mechanically layout and mount hardware components. * Wire complete panel in accordance with PFT panel procedures, UL508A specifications, and other best practices as given by the panel shop supervisor. * The use of hand tools, i.e. jigsaw, drills, wrenches, screwdrivers * The use of electrical test equipment, i.e. Multi meter * Torque check and marking in accordance with PFT procedures * Test Custom Industrial Control Panels and OEM Products * Point to Point wire tests in accordance with PFT testing procedures Along with acquiring technical knowledge, you will be responsible for the following: * Accounting for parts required for the job * Maintaining a neat and orderly work area at all times * Organizing and maintaining shop tools and equipment * Organizing and maintaining personal tools * Organizing and maintaining your project items and materials * Help maintain common shop supplies IE Labels, wire ties, wire, etc. Panel Technician Helper Qualifications : * Previous experience, training, or schooling in electrical work * Familiarity with electrical equipment and hand tools and other power tools * Willingness to learn * Current, valid, and clean NYS driver's license to operate company vehicles as needed Physical Requirements: * Ability to stand for up to 8 Hours * Ability to lift 50 pounds * Ability to work on elevated platforms * Ability to climb ladders * This position may require standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching and/or reaching * You may be exposed to dust, loud noises, and hot and cold conditions * Good hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills may be required for hand tools, power tools, and other machinery Full-time, Monday - Friday, on-site.
