Job Location:Based in Searsport,possible backupsupport in Boothbay Harbor
Primary Responsibilities:theforensic interviewofchildren at the MCACsite(s)
Representative Duties:
Forensic Interviewing
AttendNational Childrens Alliance (NCA)approvedtrainingsfor forensic interviewing.Curriculum must be included on NCAs approved list of nationally or state recognized forensic interview trainings orsubmittedwith the accreditation application
Serveastheprimary forensic interviewer and coordinator of forensic interviewsat the MCACs in WaldoCounty with back up support to Boothbay Harbor Office
Maintain knowledge of ongoing research and best-practices in the field ofchildforensic interviewing, trauma,and child development
Demonstrate participation in ongoing education in the field of child maltreatment and/orforensic interviewingconsisting of a minimum of 8 contact hours every 2 years, as required by NCA Accreditation Standards
Participate in structured peer review a minimum of 2 times a year
Coordinatewitha team of trained Forensic Interviewers from the MCACMulti-Disciplinary Team, to serve as back-up interviewers, when needed
Ensure that all interviews conducted atthe MCAC are conducted with a focus on the child using an approvedinterviewingprotocol, such as the NCAs Forensic Interviewing of ChildrenProtocol

Complete SASSMM47 hours Advocate Training
Contribute tothe MidcoastChildrens Advocacy Centers application for Accreditation(or alternative membership level)through NCA
Assistwith clerical duties, such as answering the phone, typing, filing, mailing, etc. as needed
Work a typical 8:30am-4:30pm M-F schedule, with occasional evening work hours
Perform other duties, as assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in human services or other related field, or related experience
Familiarity with the dynamics of sexual assault and abuse
Resourcefulness, energy,initiativeandexcellent organizational skills
Experience working with volunteers
Public speaking experience
Demonstrated leadership ability and effective oral and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to relate to community members and agency personnel in an effective,matureand professional manner
Ability to relate to survivors in an empathic, patient, and non-judgmental manner
Computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, power point
Have access to transportation
Accountability:Accountable to the MCAC Program Coordinator.
