The Floor Technician is responsible for floor maintenance, restoration, and the operation of industrial floor care equipment in assigned location(s). Essential functions and responsibilities of the position may vary by Aramark location based on client requirements and business needs.
Job Responsibilities
Maintains a friendly, efficient, and positive customer service attitude toward customers, clients, and co-workers.
Anticipates and responds to customer needs.
Uses proper procedures on hard floor care (stripping & refinishing, burnishing, spray cleaning, and spray buffing) in adherence to the principles of hard surface floor maintenance.
Uses the proper procedures on carpet and upholstering (shampooing, damp surface, extractions, spot cleaning, vacuuming, etc.).
Operates industrial floor care equipment as assigned and according to schedule for cleaning of large area of floor surface.
Performs maintenance and restorative processes for all floor surface types.
Properly processes all municipal solid waste (MSW), infectious, and pharmaceutical waste including rendering infectious waste as MSW.
Removes trash, recyclables, soiled linen, used supplies and equipment from assigned work area. Disinfects receptacles and carts as needed.
Follows all Aramark safety standards, sanitation, and infection control standards and procedures and requirements by the appropriate accredited local agencies.
Adheres to all Aramark appearance standards and always wears the required uniform and personal protective equipment (PPE) while working.

Qualifications
Previous experience as a floor care technician or in related role and knowledge of floor care equipment and use is preferred.
Must be able to read and write to facilitate proper communication with others and be able to perform simple mathematical calculations.
This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

* Cleans and sanitizes drinking fountains; lavatories; coffee or refreshment areas and kitchens. Stocks lavatories and kitchen areas as needed.
* Empties and washes all wastebaskets and trash receptacles and replaces liners.

Performs special cleaning projects as well as daily cleaning duties in accordance with standard procedures and contract objectives. An employee uses cleaning equipment, including automatic floor machines, commercial vacuums, wet mops, large wringers and other necessary equipment, tools, chemicals and supplies.
RESPONSIBILITIES
General Clean-up:
Perform general clean-up of all areas of the building as directed.
Ensure rooms are maintained and fully equipped.
Cleaning and sanitizing offices, meeting rooms, bathrooms, kitchenettes and public areas.
Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.
Service, clean, and supply restrooms.
Gather and empty trash and recycling. May include transporting trash from collection points to incinerator, compactor, or pick-up areas.
Inside windowpane, glass surfaces, and mirror cleaning to a height no greater than body height plus an arm's extension from floor level, during periodic cleaning maintenance programs.
Polish metal fixtures or trimmings.
Complete non-routine cleaning according to specified job orders, handle emergency cleaning and upkeep requests, and tackle heavy cleaning jobs upon request.
Maintain and upkeep of all cleaning equipment, supplies, and products.
Reports repairs and replacements needed when encountered on job.
Mix and dispose of all cleaning solutions appropriately.
Follow all health and safety regulations.
Ensuring safe and sanitary storage and care of products.
Other duties as assigned.
Floors:
Sweep, mop, scrub, and/or vacuum floors.
“Spot” cleaning carpets.
Steam-clean or shampoo carpets as needed or if in the contract.
Use electrically powered scrubbing and polishing machines to burnish, scrub, polish and spray clean floors (after receiving proper instruction and training).
Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
The use of chemical agents as directed by the Supervising Officer in the discharge of cleaning operations or maintenance procedures, after receiving proper instructions and training.

Bathrooms:
Clean toilets, urinals, hand basins, sinks, baths, showers and drinking fountains, and wipe surfaces.
Replenish consumables such as soap, paper towels, toilet paper, etc.
Empty trash and sanitary bins.
Dust the fan/vent.
Clean all piping.
Mop and scrub floors.
Clean grout as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements

The 6-S Utility Specialist will report to the Sr. Manager of EHS and supports plant operations in both sites by maintaining organization, cleanliness, and efficiency in alignment with the Company's 6-S standards (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain, and Safety). This role plays a key part in fostering a clean, safe, and efficient work environment that enhances productivity and employee morale.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:
•Perform daily 6-S duties across production, maintenance, and warehouse areas.
•Maintain and organize tools, equipment, and materials according to 6-S standards.
•Conduct routine cleaning of floors, machinery, and workstations to ensure safety and order.
