Hematology/Oncology Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) - UNC Caldwell

Overview:


We are seeking a compassionate and engaging hematology/oncology Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our team at the McCreary Cancer Center, a Service of UNC Hospitals. As a valued member of our team, you will provide high-quality patient care in a state-of-the-art facility with a focus on patient satisfaction.
Responsibilities:

* Provide patient care in the hematology and oncology department, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with blood disorders and cancers

* Order and interpret lab tests, including blood counts and chemistry profiles

* Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with the medical oncologist and radiation oncologist

* Perform procedures such as phlebotomy and injections

* Educate patients and families on diagnosis, treatment options, and self-care techniques

* Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients

* Maintain accurate and detailed medical records

* Participate in quality improvement initiatives to improve patient outcomes and satisfaction

Qualifications:

* Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) or Physician Assistant Studies (PA-C)

* Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA)

* Licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Physician Assistant (PA) in the state of North Carolina

* Experience in hematology and oncology preferred

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills

* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
