Full-time Description
Jones Edmunds is looking for a Project Engineer with a passion for Water Resources Engineering to join our watershed and stormwater modeling team. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in areas related to stormwater hydrology, hydraulics, and water quality and interested in professional work focusing on stormwater modeling, GIS-based stormwater analysis, and stormwater design. Experience using Esri ArcGIS software, stormwater modeling software, or AutoCAD Civil3D is strongly preferred.
The Project Engineer applies extensive and diversified knowledge of principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields in the overall management of assigned projects. The Project Engineer uses advanced techniques to complete assignments. This position will work on a major project or several projects of moderate scope with complex features. The Project Engineer participates in quality assurance and quality control activities. The Project Engineer works independently to perform technical activities consistent with project plans within project scope and budget and regularly communicates with Project Managers regarding project activities.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Technical Responsibility
Direct the work of associates on a project-by-project basis.
Work with Project Managers and team members to maximize profitability while maintaining a high level of quality.
Analyze and design systems.
Prepare complete project documents including studies, reports, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
Prepare concise and correct written correspondence.
Provide technical support on construction projects including reviewing construction submittals and performing construction site observations.
Work independently or as part of a team to perform technical activities consistent with project plans within project scope and budget.
Track progress on project tasks relative to scope, deliverables, schedule, and budget.
Meet deadlines or assist others in meeting deadlines.
Provide consultative value to clients.
Quality Program Responsibility
Provide Quality Control Review of work product on projects to ensure they meet Company, industry, and client standards and expectations in accordance with Jones Edmunds Quality Program.
Responsible for the quality of work submitted. Review designs and documents before submitting them to the next review level.
Adhere to project deadlines and keep the Project Manager informed of any difficulties encountered on assignments.
Complete peer reviews of work in a thorough and timely manner to ensure the quality and service our clients receive.
Review the work of Engineers and Engineer Interns that was completed under his/her direction.
Perform peer reviews as per quality program.
Submit work for quality control review on time and in a complete format.
Management Responsibility
May act as Task Manager.
Marketing Responsibility
Participate in developing technical papers and presentations.
Assist in developing client proposals for projects to ensure a complete scope that meets Company, industry, and client standards and expectations.
Interact directly with clients on technical issues.
Present a professional and positive image of Jones Edmunds.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Education: BS in Engineering from accredited college or university
Registration: Florida Registered Professional Engineer
Certification: None
Experience: Minimum of 8 years of progressive consulting or related experience
MS Engineering may be substituted for 1 year of experience

Your Opportunity
We are seeking a Hydrogeologist to support our expanding business in Florida and throughout the Gulf Region. The position will also provide hydrogeology support to the Water Resources Business Line. This position is based out of Stantec's West Palm Beach office. The Hydrogeologist will report to a Hydrogeologist Team Leader and will be responsible for designing, supporting, and executing hydrogeological investigations for dewatering, water supply, and aquifer recharge studies for water supply clients. This candidate also will be responsible for leading a large capacity production well design and construction projects. The successful candidate should have a background in drilling groundwater production wells, familiar with deep injection well construction, ability to oversee and support groundwater flow modeling, field investigations, conduct aquifer performance tests, project management, and technical report writing. This position interacts with both internal and external clients in field and office settings. The position requires travel to sites, primarily in the central Florida area. Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills are necessary for the position.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Follow safe work practices and adhere to company and client guidelines and policies for planning and executing work in a safe manner.
- Develop new well designs for groundwater monitoring and groundwater production.
- Design field investigations in support of hydrogeology studies including drilling, well construction, and testing oversight; groundwater sampling; and water level monitoring.
- Prepare technical reports documenting field investigations and analytical results.
- Prepare and deliver presentations of hydrogeologic investigations to internal and external clients.
- Ability to mentor junior staff and provide input to improve hydrogeologic interpretations or client deliverables.
- Assist project managers with developing project budgets, determining project scope, and establishing project schedules.
- Excellent communication skills: verbal, business writing, electronic communications, and presentations (record of publications, project reports, and/or public presentations will be requested).
- Ability to work independently and provide a supervisory role in the field at remote sites.
- Must have a good driving record and valid Driver's License.
Education and Experience
- Minimum of an B.S. (M.S. preferred) in Hydrogeology/Geology/Geochemistry or related field is required.
- Experience and/or course work completed in geology, hydrogeology, and production well design and construction, and aquifer test analysis is required.
- A minimum of 5 years of working experience in consulting, mining or similar field requiring regularly using and analyzing hydrogeologic data.
- Existing professional registration in Florida or ability to work towards a professional registration (PG).

We are seeking a Hydrogeologist to support our expanding business in Florida and throughout the Gulf Region. The position will also provide hydrogeology support to the Water Resources Business Line. This position is based out of Stantec's West Palm Beach office. We are seeking Senior CEI Inspectors for our Transportation-Construction Management (T-CM) team in the Tampa, Bartow FL area.
As a Senior CEI Inspector, you will monitor the contractor's on-site construction activities and inspect materials to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and other contract documents. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, be a team player, and be enthusiastic, motivated, honest, and dependable.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Maintain detailed records of the contractor's daily operations including manpower, equipment, construction methods, and events that affect the work
Monitor the work zone traffic control plan and identify discrepancies and potential issues
Monitor the erosion control plan and identify discrepancies and potential issues
Perform sampling and testing of component materials and completed work
Verify the dimensions of prepared and completed work
Inspect the construction work and conduct field tests
Track/measure completed work quantities for payment
Perform survey checks
Manage the team of inspectors, coordinate their schedules, and oversee their work and records
Qualifications:
HS Diploma or equivalent
8+ years of construction experience with 4+ years in roadway/bridge inspection or a Civil Engineering degree and 3 years of road and bridge construction engineering and inspection experience
Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
Must have a Valid Driver's License with a good driving record
Must obtain any required certifications and pass appropriate qualifications tests for the position in specified time frames
Ability to sit, stand, climb, bend, twist or stoop frequently and for prolonged periods, under various outside conditions
Ability to reach horizontally as well as vertically for required tasks
Ability to use construction or inspection safety equipment including fall protection

Your Opportunity
The role of a Civil Engineer is to work as a team member on small and large Transportation projects. The Civil Engineer, EIT will work under direct supervision of a Senior Project Engineer to develop skills in evaluating, selecting, specifying, and engineering systems or products for a project.
A Civil Engineer performs a variety of tasks which may include assisting with typical projects including development of construction plans, specifications, cost estimates, engineering reports and studies for infrastructure projects, including transportation, drainage, and CAD production.
Your Key Responsibilities
Select and apply appropriate design criteria to perform minor, major, and complex roadway/highway transportation design assignments.
Performs basic engineering calculations.

Prepares site/engineering assessments, facilitates permit sketches and permitting processes.
