Full-time Description Summary of Position
Responsible to inspect, maintain and repair all equipment, property and buildings associated with Company operations; specializing in electrical control and power distribution systems. Works on electrical power distribution wiring and components associated with plant building structures. Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems associated with the Company's machinery. Is accountable to deliver equipment, property and buildings that are fabricated, maintained and repaired 100% in compliance with applicable safety and operating standards. Responsible to maintain all documents, records and files to support Maintenance department activities.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Assist technician(s) for assigned projects, machine installations, building renovations/changes, and repairs.
a. Solicit contractor quotes as required.
b. Supervise project teams (contractor and assigned Reading Alloys employees) as required to complete assigned projects.
2. Help train & develop junior Maintenance Electricians and Maintenance Mechanics to improve the electrical knowledge of the Maintenance department through; task specific training, group presentations, job shadowing, and similar activities.
3. Inspect, repair and perform routine maintenance on all equipment, property and buildings associated with Company operations consistent with Maintenance Department Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) to support 100% safe operations and in compliance with Company quality standards and systems.
a. Complete assigned daily scheduled equipment, property and Company building inspections. Take all corrective action needed up to and including the restriction or removal of the equipment or property from daily operations.
b. Complete regularly scheduled preventive maintenance consistent with Maintenance Department SOP.
4. Identify and correctly diagnose reported equipment, property and building problems. Complete all required repairs. Request assistance and consult others as needed. All repair and maintenance solutions must meet or exceed applicable Safety, Environmental and Quality requirements.
5. Maintain all equipment property and building inspection, repair and preventive maintenance schedules, logs, files and records. Work with Manufacturing Management/Supervision and other Company Managers to schedule/complete all maintenance and repairs with a minimum of disruption to daily operations.
6. Properly store and maintain all company issued tools and related equipment. Requisition required new tools and replacements for Manager approval.
Requirements
Associate of Science Degree or Electrical Journeyman's License, or a minimum of five years equivalent experience in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge and/or experience with the following:
Current NEC regulations (NFPA 70)
Power distribution systems, electrical panel boards, and electrical switchgear for single and poly phase systems up to and including 480 volts.
Motor control systems; AC and DC drives, motor starters, and motor control centers
Electrical instrumentation and componentry to include temperature, pressure, and flow sensors/transducers
Understanding of 4-20ma and low voltage feedback control
Demonstrated skills in the maintenance of a broad range of equipment in a heavy manufacturing environment and the identification and diagnosis of plant and equipment operating problems.
Demonstrated skills with common hand and power tools.
Conduit installation experience required.
Within 14 days of date of hire must pass in-house certification of tow motor operation and hi-reach operation.
Must be able to work at heights up to 70 feet.
Must be able to work in confined spaces. Some at depths as low as 50 feet below ground level.
Experience with common PC office applications such as MS Word, Excel and MS Exchange required.
Hydraulic/pneumatic/water distribution system experience desired.
Relay logic (and PLC logic with basic programming skills) preferred.
Overhead crane experience preferred.

Responsibilities:
Correctly complete any required reports or paperwork such as production data sheets, order documentation. Perform duties as assigned. Some ongoing duties include those listed below but are not inclusive to this position:
Perform electrical tasks including, but not limited to, running new wire, bending conduit, installing switches and other components, running electronic tests, cleaning contacts or circuit boards, replacing worn components, oiling motors.
Assemble, install, inspect, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring and equipment. Ensure compliance with applicable codes. Inspect and test electrical systems to identify hazard using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes.
Provide emergency and unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production; diagnose malfunctioning systems, locate the cause of the breakdown and repair. Respond timely to any electrical breakdown. Locate source of problem by observation, testing, talking with operator. Remove defective parts using power tools and other equipment. Repair to prevent reoccurrence.
Perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of packaging and production machines.
Able to work on systems with sensors and limit switches, motor controls, overload relays, PLC's, VFD's, solid state devices and monitors/displays.
Report equipment parts usage from stock to ensure accurate inventory; notify department supervisor of any parts and supplies needing to be ordered.
Conserve maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job.
Document all work to ensure accurate maintenance records, ensure production operation is aware of status of equipment and improve overall communication between shifts.
Qualifications:
Technical training; high school diploma plus 3 years of experience in production machine repair.
Able to read and write English to read in interpret equipment manuals and work orders to performance required maintenance and service, maintain inspection reports, downtime logs, work orders.
Strong experience with PLC troubleshooting, installation and repair of A/C D/C motors, working with up to 600 volts.
Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of packaging and production machines. Basic use of computer, tablet, scanner, iPad for recording information.
Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications.
Working knowledge of the national electrical codes applied in the industrial arena.
