EPI Power is seeking Licensed Electricians to be located on a project site in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This position is a non-union role.
The states that reciprocate Electrician Licenses with Iowa are: Alaska, Arkansas, Colorado, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas, and Wisconsin.
The rate of pay will be $46.00 per hour for Journeyman License Electricians with $100.00 per day of per diem.
What You'll Do:
* Install raceways, conduit, and cable trays
* Terminate motors and motor controls
* Pull wire and cable
* Install and terminate transformers, buss duct, switchgear, and motor control centers
* Maintain quality sign-off sheets and customer approval sheets
* Read and interpret all applicable codes, drawings, schematics, sketches, and specifications related to assigned work
* Complete work safely and efficiently, while upholding quality requirements
What We're Looking For:
* Education:
* High School diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred
* Experience:
* A valid Class A or B license from the State of Iowa
* Skills:
* Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide units of measure
* Ability to make complex cuts not to waste material, and figure out complex forming systems
* Training and complying with all safety rules, and performing without constant supervision
* Language Skills:
* Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints and specifications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
* Ability to write routine correspondence and speak effectively with customers and co-workers
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to bend, sit, stand and walk on uneven ground; use hands to manipulate objects, tools or controls; frequently make repetitive reaching and other movements with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee frequently is required to speak and listen and must regularly lift and/or move materials. Specific vision abilities include close vision and ability to adjust focus. Work Environment:

Employee must also be able to work scheduled/unscheduled overtime, per the needs of the project (weekends and holidays included).

General Job Description
Responsible for performing a range of electrical maintenance and repair tasks to ensure equipment and facility systems operate safely and efficiently. Focuses on troubleshooting, maintaining, and installing electrical components and systems in a manufacturing environment. Follows established Standard Operating Procedures, preventative maintenance schedules, production requirements, and safety regulations to support continuous operations and minimize downtime.
Key Responsibilities
Handles electrical/electronic troubleshooting and repairs.
Troubleshoot and repair production equipment on a priority basis.
Inspect and perform scheduled preventive maintenance on machines, according to schedule and plans.
Check the performance of machinery and detect minor problems by performing basic diagnostic and alignment tests, report any necessary major repairs.
Adjust, align, and calibrate equipment and machinery to meet production and quality specifications, including sensors and controls as necessary.
Repairs broken parts and performs building repairs, as needed, for the plant.
Installs new equipment.
Maintains the office building to include painting, minor electrical duties, minor carpentry, repairs to furniture, etc.
Follow environmental, health and safety standards and procedures including but not limited to LOTO, safe lifting, forklift, and crane operations.
Communicate machine status and performance to the following shift team to ensure effective shift changeovers if applicable.
Job Requirements
High school or above
Training in Electrical or length of experience in Electrical required.
Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude and history of safe work practices and habits.
Able to read and apply technical manuals, work instructions and product specifications, along with ability to properly complete record keeping duties.
Technical training or experience in one or more areas of electrical/electronics, troubleshooting, machining, welding, carpentry, plumbing is highly desirable.
Available to work overtime, both on weekends and at night/early morning to accommodate production scheduling requirements.
Able to lift 50 lbs repeatedly.
Able to effectively use common hand and power tools along with measurement tools/gages (metric and US)
Basic computer skills to input and track information.
