Mt. Pleasant Municipal Utilities (MPMU) is seeking a skilled JourneymanLineman to join our team. Located in the heart of Southeast Iowa, Mt. Pleasant is a growing community of approximately 9,000 residents. MPMU provides reliable electric, water, and generation services to our customers and is committed to safety, service, and innovation.
Position Overview The JourneymanLineman is responsible for performing construction, maintenance, and operation of the electric distribution system. This position plays a key role in ensuring the safe, reliable delivery of electricity to our community.
Pay Rate
$49.04 per hour

Key Responsibilities
Construct, dismantle, maintain, replace, repair, and operate electric distribution facilities
Perform routine maintenance on electric distribution systems
Install poles, transformers, capacitor banks, regulators, underground cable, overhead conductors, and related equipment
Operate and maintain overhead and underground electrical equipment including cable, switchgear, and terminations
Interpret and update electric system maps
Prepare and record daily time reports and work order documentation
Perform 24/7 emergency standby and rotational on-call duties
Assist in customer field installations and utility electric metering/testing
Maintain positive, professional relationships with the public, contractors, and partner agencies
Support other utility activities and duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
Completion of an Accredited Electric Line Mechanic Apprenticeship
Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Class A Endorsement
Thorough knowledge of utility safety rules and construction standards
Strong understanding of electric distribution systems
Physical ability to perform all duties of the position
Residency within 20 miles of the MPMU headquarters (required)

A Route Service Apprentice is one of those positions that many current CITY personnel started their career in. It is the position that gets people in the door of the Service Department. As a Route Service Apprentice, you will begin by riding with every single Route Service Representative at your location. Job Description
Amsted Rail - Griffin Wheel, the leading manufacturer of railroad wheels in North America, is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Industrial Electrician for our Keokuk, IA foundry.
The Electrician must be able to demonstrate a safe work ethic utilizing extensive knowledge of OSHA policies and programs.
Skills needed include:
Ability to problem solve, troubleshoot and repair Electrical systems including: drive motors, electrical field devices including proximity switches, limits, and lasers.
Maintaining electrical and electronic equipment, PC's/PLC's, variable frequency drives, electronic/electrical troubleshooting and process control loops.
Ability to connect to PLC's including SLC 500 and Controllogix systems, troubleshoot and solve problems, including performing program changes.
Ability to perform new electrical installation of equipment, including conduit, sealtite and install new wiring runs.
Knowledge of OSHA 29CFR 1910 - General Industry Safety Standard: Lock Out Try Out, Confined Space, Fall Protection, Hot Work Practices, Mobile Equipment Operation, NFPA 70E, PPE, etc.
Must be able to work without direct supervision, be a self-starter, pay attention to details including accurate data collection/entry and tracking of preventative maintenance information.
Hours of work will be on an off shift with daily and weekend overtime as required. The ideal candidates will have advanced schooling and/or 5 years of verifiable industrial maintenance experience.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and successfully complete screening and skills tests prior to interviewing.

Oversee and Repair Electrical Equipment & Components Backup Support for General Maintenance Duties
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Install, maintain, and repair electrical control, wiring, low/hire voltage, and lighting systems
Perform routine and preventative maintenance and inspections on electrical systems and and/or production equipment
Troubleshoot electrical issues using appropriate testing devices
Read and interpret technical diagrams, blueprints, and schematics
Promptly respond to emergency radio calls; work efficiently to repair machinery with minimal downtime
Understand basic HVAC, Freon and CO2 systems and well as various testing equipment
Accurately complete work orders to document materials used and time spent on maintenance projects
Assist other maintenance or production personnel, when requested and/or time allows
Assist with inventory control, as needed
Safely operate skid steers, forklifts, telehandlers, and scissors lifts, if needed
Work safely following all company safety policies, practices, procedures, and improvement initiatives
Follow National Electrical Code state and local building regulations; comply with all regulatory requirements for food safety
Situations may arise that require employees to temporarily or permanently assume responsibility for tasks not specifically outlined in this job description. Employees may be requested to work additional hours and/or accommodate a heavier than normal workload.
Qualifications
Electrical degree or completion of an Electrical Apprenticeship Program
Experience working as an electrician or technician, preferred; manufacturing experience, a plus
Advanced understanding of electrical codes and systems, control wiring, safety systems, blueprints, and maintenance & repairs
Experience with Studio 5000, SCADA or PLC Programming, a plus
Familiarity with HVAC systems, generators, Variable Frequency Drive (VFD), preferred
Ability to independently solve problems, use resources, and execute tasks
Proficiency in using tools such as multimeters and meggers
Awareness of the importance of food safety standards while performing equipment maintenance
Experience with skid steers, forklifts, telehandlers, and scissors lifts, preferred; pass in-house certifications upon hire
Knowledge of safety procedures such as confined space entry, line opening, fall protection, lockout tagout, and hot work
Effectively communicate with supervisors and co-workers and follow written and/or verbal instructions
Accurately read and understand signs, labels, warnings, directions, operator manuals, service manuals, and wiring schematics associated with the maintenance and/or operation of instruments, equipment, and/or chemical usage
Proficient in basic math skills, measuring, and reading data trends; accurately and legibly record information
Willingness and ability to work extra hours as needed during the week or weekend
Ability to work in a facility that processes pigs
Must be 18 years of age or older for insurance purposes

AVEKA is seeking a maintenance technician with a background in electrical systems to join our Maintenance team! This role is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, trouble shooting equipment issues, and ensure safe, efficient operation of all facility systems.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Adhere to all established AVEKA safety, LO/TO (Lockout/Tagout), Food safety, GMP, HACCP, and Processing policies
Diagnose equipment failures, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
Conduct routine preventative maintenance on mechanical, electrical and pneumatic systems
Install, maintain and/or repair: motors, pumps, sensors, wiring, breakers etc.
