Job Title: Lab Technician - Product Development Position Type: Full-Time We are seeking a full-time candidate for a Lab Technician to support innovation and product development in frostings and icings. The ideal candidate combines a strong scientific foundation with practical, hands-on experience in fast-paced environments such as laboratories, kitchens, or production facilities. They are detail-oriented and organized. This role involves technical formulation, creating bench prototypes and sales samples, and quality and sensory evaluation. This role reports to the R&D Product Development Manager. This role is on-site 3-5 days/week How You'll Help Support product development through benchtop formulation, prototype preparation, sensory evaluation, data analysis, and documentation for regulatory, nutritional, and certification compliance. Test and analyze ingredients Manage R&D ingredient inventory and ensure all benchtop evaluations follow Good Laboratory Practices Clean, calibrate, and operate analytical equipment. Design and execute experiments Prepare Samples What you'll bring Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, or related field, OR Associate's degree with 2+ years of food lab experience, OR equivalent hands-on food science experience with demonstrable knowledge of techniques and equipment At least 1 year of experience in laboratory functions within the food, beverage, chemical, or pharmaceutical industry Working knowledge of formulation principles, ingredient functionality, sensory evaluation, and food processing. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail Ability to work collaboratively within a team Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Google Workspace and Dropbox How You'll Be Successful In This Role Apply scientific curiosity and critical thinking Learn quickly, execute with precision, and maintain a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
