Position Overview
We are seeking licensed and experienced Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) to provide on-site evaluation, treatment, and communication supports for students. The SLP will assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, and communication disorders and collaborate with teachers and school staff to support student success. This role supports students with a wide range of needs, including articulation, language, communication, and various disabilities.
Each SLP will be contracted to one school only (no rotating assignments).
Primary Responsibilities
Conduct speech and language evaluations for students with diverse disabilities (e.g., autism, ADHD, intellectual disabilities, speech/language impairments).
Provide direct therapy services and document all interventions in compliance with physician orders and student IEPs.
Develop educational goals, implement treatment plans, and actively participate in the IEP process.
Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other school staff to support students' communication needs.
Implement IDEA, RTI, and inclusionary practices for students with disabilities.
Monitor progress on all IEP goals (minimum of 2 data points per goal per week) and maintain records in the student's special education file.
Use collected data to complete mid-term and 9-week progress reports for families.
Adjust therapeutic approaches based on student data and skill development.
Education, Experience & Qualifications
At least 1 year of experience working in a school setting (required for submission).
Minimum 1 year of experience with various disabilities, communication disorders, AAC systems, and assistive devices.
Active Tennessee SLP License (required).
CCC-SLP preferred (and may be required depending on state/contract).
Must maintain all state-required certifications and licensure.
Valid state-issued driver's license.
CPR certification (if applicable).
TB questionnaire/PPD/chest X-ray (if applicable).
Current health certificate if required by contract or state regulation.
Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Ability to work as a collaborative team member and communicate effectively with staff, students, and families.
Ability to receive coaching, maintain professionalism, and uphold high expectations for student success.
