Your mission will be to: * This position requires work on weekends and holidays as part of the regular schedule * Shifts typically begin at 5:00 AM or 6:00 AM * Receive and log in sample in preparation for analysis. Review sample and any attached documentation to assign an identification number and enter information into Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). Prepare documentation as necessary. * Contact client, when necessary, to obtain and clarify missing or unclear information to ensure that identification of client code, test code, and sample contents are accurate. * Store samples in appropriate manner until analysis is completed and appropriately dispose of extra samples. Ensure sample integrity is maintained. * Prepare packages for pick up by shipping vendors. Follow appropriate procedures to send packages and maintain all related documentation. * Prepare samples to be shipped to other testing facilities when necessary. PATIENT POPULATION: The patient population served in the DP/SNF is 21 years old and older. This also includes services which affect facility staff, physicians, visitors, vendors and the general public. Under the supervision of the DPSNF Director , the Social Service Designee is responsible for performing a variety of routine discharge planning tasks and other social services to patients and residents of the hospital, primarily in the DPSNF. The Designee may also act at the direction of a Social Service Assistant, with oversight by the LCSW.
