    Cleveland-Cliffs Steel has an immediate opportunity for a Process Manager Roll Shop, at our East Chicago, Indiana Operation. This role will be responsible for supervising hourly employees within the roll shop environment to meet the required production and quality goals. You will identify activities needed to maintain equipment in top condition, maintain required roll and roll chock inventories within given budget, and have an intimate knowledge of required grinding machine and rolling mill chock tolerances. You will also support and lead efforts towards engagement and participative management practices. A successful candidate will be self-motivated/self-directed and demonstrate the ability to lead a complex workforce in a demanding cold mill environment. Summary of Responsibilities: Coordinate daily safety communication and monthly safety activities. Maintain an active housekeeping program to ensure a safe, clean, and productive facility. Communicate within the department and when necessary, with outside departments to ensure a continuous operational flow. Investigate operational issues associated with rolls and roll chocks, leads troubleshooting activity, resolves problems, and clearly documents activities. Developing and conducting a comprehensive training program. Have an excellent understanding of the equipment capability, limitations, and location within the facility in order to direct activity needed to maintain a highly productive operation. Lead a diverse workforce in the completion of these tasks. Work in a fast-paced environment and be able to prioritize effectively and multi-task. Promote a positive work culture by working to increase trust with bargained for workforce and leading by example regarding safety and environmental guidelines. Minimum Qualifications: Associate's degree from an accredited school or equivalent experience Proficient with computers, including spreadsheet and word processing software. 3 years' experience in roll grinding, roll shops or equivalent experience. Intimate with roll shop operations including roll and chock specifications. Good organizational skills and problem-solving skills. Good communication skills. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Supervision, or an Engineering discipline. Three (3) years of supervisory experience in steel mill, manufacturing, process, production or equivalent facility. Successful track record working with a represented workforce in a heavy industrial setting.
