Provide support and assistance to the Shop Foremen by providing leadership, coordinating, overseeing, and addressing repairs to all YISD fleet vehicles. Assist Automotive Technicians in the diagnostic and troubleshooting of various mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and electronic problems.
Ensure the transportation bus fleet and motor coach fleet are properly maintained and serviced for daily and ready for use.
Assist with the management inventory of parts, supplies, materials, and equipment as needed.

Oversee the maintenance of the in-district Liquid Petroleum Gas fueling station for the proper disposal of regulated waste.
Assign the service work orders from the district web-based work order software system. Daily tasks include creating, assigning, documenting costs, ordering parts, closing work orders, analyze data, and create reports. Oversee the Preventative Maintenance inventory and schedules of buses.
Maintain data to provide technical reports to regulatory agencies; maintain necessary records and review for accuracy and completeness. Assign, review, and supervise work performed by shop personnel.
Ensure compliance with all environmental programs in alignment with district policies and procedures, Federal, State and local laws and regulations to include Department of Transportation (DOT), Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA), Hazardous Material (HAZMAT), etc. Ensure all mechanic staff is trained in appropriate training such as Personal Protection Equipment (PPE,) Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS), Hazardous Composition (HAZCOM), and Liquid Petroleum Gas
Provide required supervision or assistance during times of emergency. Serve as a contact to receive calls and coordinate with police, fire, security, and other applicable district departments at night, on weekends and holidays concerning emergency situations and take appropriate action.
Attendance at the work site is required to meet essential functions of the job.
Other Responsibilities
Participate in professional development activities as required by the district.
Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties; support district/department goals.

Qualifications

As an Automotive Locksmith Technician on our team,
You:
Are at least 25 years of age
Have a high-school diploma or equivalent
Have a minimum of 2 years' experience Locksmithing
Are punctual and responsible
Are detail-oriented and a team player
Are motivated and can work without constant supervision
Are organized and driven to meet deadlines
Have a valid Texas Driver's license without a suspension in the last two years
Have reliable transportation
Have a clean background
Can pass pre-employment screening and unannounced drug screening throughout your employment
Can thrive in a multi-cultural and multi-generational environment
You should:
Have knowledge of automotive electrical systems, key duplication and transponder programming
Have ignition removal experience
Have 1 -2 years lishing experience
Have all keys lost experience
Have basic computer experience and typing skills
Have a smartphone with a good quality camera
Be an excellent communicator (verbal and written)
Be comfortable using various technologies (phones, tablets, computers, cameras etc.)
The Job:
Maintain all Customer and Company policies and procedures required to meet compliance
Maintain equipment and inventory within an assigned company vehicle
Accurately submit photos, invoices, and work orders into an invoicing system on a timely basis
Using Lishi's to decode locks
Cut and program new vehicle keys
The Pay: (Hourly Rate depends on experience)
$20.00 - $21.00 per Hour + $2.00 per key commission (151+ keys cut monthly= $3.00 per key)

Ancillary/Transportation
Perform preventative and emergency maintenance and repair of various district vehicles and equipment in accordance with established priorities, policies and guidelines. Adhere to federal and state laws, as well as, district policies procedures and regulations.
Essential Functions
Troubleshoot vehicles brought in for repair to determine the cause of problems as well as parts and time needed for repair.
Perform routine maintenance on vehicles in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations.
Perform other trade works as it relates to repairing vehicles or equipment (i.e. welding, glazier work, plumbing, heating, ventilation and air conditioning, upholstery, tire repair and automotive body repair).
Work on automotive suspension systems, various brake systems, LP1 propane engine fuel systems and heating & cooling systems.
Work on different types of engines (gasoline, diesel and propane) and various types of systems (hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical and electronic).
Work with various types of equipment and systems associated with children with disabilities (i.e. child passenger restraints systems and wheelchair lifts).
Evaluate the mechanical condition of vehicles to determine if they are safe for use.
Inspect and road test vehicles prior to and after repairs have been made to assure quality diagnosis and repair.
Procure equipment/parts needed for repair.
Monitor inventory levels based on usage.
Follow the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations during routine maintenance and repairs.
Read/interpret blueprints, schematics, specifications and wiring diagrams to trouble shoot and repair equipment.
Work with various automotive diagnostic tools, equipment and software.
Be available to work various shifts and respond to service calls.
Attendance at the work site is required to meet essential functions of the job.
Other Responsibilities
Participate in professional development activities as required by the district.
Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties; support district/department goals.
Maintain a professional code of ethics and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED); possess a certificate of approved automotive mechanic training course or six (6) months experience evaluating, maintaining, and repairing automobiles and/or buses; familiarity with the use of common automotive hand tools and testing equipment. Must have a valid Texas or New Mexico driver's license and be able to obtain a Texas or New Mexico Non-Excepted Interstate Commerce Commercial Driver's License (CDL), Class “A” or “B” within 60 days of employment. Ysleta ISD Transportation will assist with the “P” and “S” endorsements which must be acquired within 60 days of obtaining a CDL. Must be insurable by the district's automobile liability insurance carrier and subject to the district's alcohol and drug testing policy. Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
