Purpose Statement The Robotic Palletizing Operator Associate will control all aspects of finished goods palletizing while adhering to all plant and food safety guidelines. Key Accountabilities and Outcomes Operate all equipment in the palletizing room, which includes the programming, troubleshooting, and documentation of all functions and equipment. Responsible for basic troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and other minor maintenance of all palletizing, conveying, and stretch wrapping equipment, which includes proper lubrication of equipment, proper tracking of belts, and start-up procedures. Maintain a valid material handling equipment certification. Maintain work area in a safe and orderly fashion according to GMP, AIB, and company safety guidelines. Perform any other miscellaneous duties assigned. Will be required to work in other areas as necessary. Knowledge, Skills, and Experience High school diploma or GED required. The Machine Operator will perform basic operation on CNC equipment (i.e. Mills, Lathes, Swiss, EDM, Mill/Turn) to manufacture medical components from raw materials. The Machine Operator will perform basic operation on CNC equipment (i.e. Mills, Lathes, Swiss, EDM, Mill/Turn) to manufacture medical components from raw materials. Responsibilities Operates machines. Inspect product per the inspection plan. Learn to deburr parts, if needed. Inspect cutting tools for sharpness and continued use. Report damaged or spent tooling to Supervisor or machine shop manager for repair/replace. Report any non-conforming parts to Supervisor. Closely monitor machine operation, detect malfunctions or out of tolerance features, make any necessary adjustments. Maintain machining area for cleanliness and minor preventive maintenance (i.e., Coolant levels). Record production through Job Boss system. Check to ensure all documentation (routers, inspection sheets, scrap tickets, etc.) is filled in correctly and completely following Good Documentation Practices (GDP). Take pride in your workmanship and make it your goal to produce a quality product every time. Support the EMS Quality Policy and Quality Objectives. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements A minimum of a High School diploma or general education degree (GED). Experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred. Responsible for monitoring, operating and troubleshooting the equipment while working efficiently and following all procedures for producing quality products according to customer specifications, as well as following safety, GMP and quality procedures. The machine operator is also required to do complete washouts of the machinery at the end of a production run. Duties & Responsibilities SKILLS & SPECIFICATIONS * Understand written and verbal instructions to complete packaging of products. Refer to "Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's)", Machine Priming, Basic Operating Procedures, Machine Operations, and Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSPO's). * * * Able to operate various manufacturing equipment in mass/high volume production environment. * Requires the ability to manipulate small parts and gauges. * Ability to use thinking and reasoning skills to solve a problem. * Set up machine at beginning of shift to ensure proper working order. * Perform safety checks throughout shift. * Adjust machine components according to finished product specifications. * Load packaging material into machine throughout shift. * Stop and adjust machine in cases of malfunctions/jams. * Troubleshoot problems during operation. * Inspect and remove defective items or those that do not meet quality standards. * Clean machine, perform preventative maintenance. * Test and evaluate products to verify correct weights, seals, film orientation, leakers, codes, labels etc. * Document activities performed throughout the shift - pre-op inspections, quality checks, maintenance performed, maintenance needed, etc. * Communicate performance information to other shifts. * Clear lines at the end of the shift. * Take all required training including washout training for sanitary washouts.
