This position will be responsible for ensuring the product is packaged correctly within quality and weight specifications. This is an 10-hour shift job with some overtime required. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Packaging: Operate the packaging equipment (conveyors, dry yeast filler, case sealers, vacuum sealers, inkjet printer, labeler, vacuum lifter) in accordance with SOPs and training. Ensure that each box that is packaged : with the proper packaging material, free of any foreign material, is within the weight range, clean and presentable, and is stacked properly on the pallet. Responsible for adjusting weights on the touchscreen interface if box weights go out of range. Assist in loading products onto trucks when necessary. Ensure that the packaging equipment are functioning effective at all time. Take product and in-process samples in proscribed manner and frequency. Perform basic laboratory analysis in accordance to the SOP's and plan of control. Follow proper procedures in packaging processes and complete them as scheduled. Follow established yeast packaging procedures, and make adjustments on the equipment, manually or through a central processing computer. Notify Superintendent of equipment failures and when major packaging problems or variations in the process are detected. Follow production schedule and notify the Superintendent of production schedule drift. Participate in the equipment cleaning operations in accordance with the plan of cleaning. Make necessary adjustments to the machine settings to correct any defects or issues in the packaging process. Conduct routine quality checks and record data to ensure compliance with quality standards. Troubleshooting: Identify and troubleshoot machine malfunctions or operational issues promptly. Perform minor repairs and adjustments, such as changing worn-out parts or clearing jams. Notify maintenance or engineering personnel for major repairs or complex issues. Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing machine components as needed. Keep a log of maintenance activities and report any potential issues to the maintenance department. Safety: Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and operate the machine in a manner that minimizes risks to oneself and others. Documentation: Follow company's QMS requirement and maintain accurate records of production output, machine settings, and quality checks. Document any issues, downtime, or maintenance activities for reporting and analysis. Communication: Collaborate with other team members, including supervisors, quality control personnel, and maintenance staff. Communicate any production-related concerns or issues to the appropriate parties. Education & Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent.
