The Machine Operator is responsible for operating extrusion equipment to produce plastic parts along with downline packaging. The Operator must follow detailed instructions to ensure the accuracy of each product. They must inspect parts for any defects or inconsistencies and make adjustments as needed. The Operator must also monitor the machines to ensure they are running smoothly and efficiently. They must have a good understanding of the equipment and be able to troubleshoot any issues that arise. The Operator must be able to read and understand technical documents, follow safety guidelines, and maintain accurate records of production.
Your Impact
Set-up, adjust, program, calibrate and perform preventative maintenance on extrusion equipment.
Produce material to specification, from job order and document production data at a level of output that minimizes production delays.
Utilize quality checks to ensure all systems are set for correct operational sequencing and to meet product standards.
Implement all aspects of Grain & Protein Technologies Lean and Quality Management systems.
Comply with all safety rules, policies, and procedures.
Your Experience and Qualifications
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Previous machine operator experience preferred, plastic extrusion equipment highly preferred.
Ability to use measuring instruments (calipers, pipe diameter tape, tape measure, go/no-go gauges), bander, Sawzall and other hand tools.
Ability to read blueprints.
Ability to read, write and use basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
Ability to operate overhead crane and sit-down forklift.

Your Compensation and Benefits
Expected total compensation for this role will be $21.80 to $26.97 per hour + $3 shift differential depending upon job related knowledge, experience, and skills.

A floater utility operator is a versatile and skilled employee who can operate all machines in the production line and fill in for other positions as needed. A floater utility operator is responsible for ensuring the quality and efficiency of the products, as well as maintaining asafe and clean work environment. A floater utility operator must have good communication and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work independently or as part of a team. A floater utility operator must also be flexible and adaptable to changing work demands and schedules.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Perform machine set-up, operation, and maintenance according to standard operating procedures
Monitor product quality and make adjustments as needed to ensure specifications are met
Troubleshoot and resolve any issues or problems that arise during production
Assist other operators and team members as required
Follow safety rules and regulations at all times
Report any incidents, accidents, or malfunctions to the supervisor
Maintain a clean and organized work area
Coordinating with other operators, technicians, engineers, and managers to ensure smooth operation of the facility or plant
Requirements
Proven experience in operating different machinery
Ability to read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and specifications
Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations for operating different machines
Skills in troubleshooting, problem-solving, and quality control
Flexibility to adapt to changing work assignments and schedules

Production Operator- Third Shift
Machine operator job in Effingham, IL
The Krusteaz Company is looking for a Third Shift Production Operator to join our Effingham team! The Production Operator is responsible for supporting all areas of production involved with packaging dry food products according to customer and company specifications, packing, trucking, stacking, counting, wrapping, weighing, cleaning, and operating machinery on a rotating basis.
Essential Functions: Other duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time.
Implement applicable data collection methods to assure Process Quality results are as accurate and meaningful as possible.
Report all necessary production information and data related to inventory, KPI's, SPC, Run Strategy and any other necessary information when required.
Ensure that all work completed in the processing area, meets all requirements of Process and Compliance Quality, Food Safety Programs and HSE.
Take preventive action where needed to protect any product in the facility from contamination
Manage all bag dump/processing functions as it relates to producing a finished product.
Ensure quality checks on ingredients used in the processing of the finished product.
Provide training to employees as changes or new methods arise.
Participate actively in the preventive maintenance system.
Perform other necessary tasks as directed by management.
Operates packaging equipment (baggers, metal detector, check weigher, etc.) and process control systems.
Performs regularly scheduled sanitation tasks.
Assist with rail car / bulk unloading tasks.
Coordinate with previous shift to ensure continuity.

Must be able to lift up to and including 60 lbs.
Must be able to pass basic reading/arithmetic test, physical agility test, background check, chemical screening and reference check prior to employment.

Standing and Walking: Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, often for the entire duration of the shift.â¯

Wage and Hours Information:
Compensation for this role has been determined based on required experience, education, certification, and training. All positions are eligible for additional incentives based on business performance.
$20.72 an hour + $1.75 shift differential
Sunday-Thursday, 10:00PM-6:30AM, with possible overtime
Up to a 7% quarterly bonus incentive pay
