About the Role:
The Operator II role at the Manawa location provides support to the Production team, driving and supporting key initiatives to improve performance throughout the plant. You'll add value to this role by performing various functions including, but not limited to:
Inspect material, products, and containers at each step of packaging process
Load raw materials and packaging into machines
Record production data, review records and specifications, complete all necessary paperwork
Set up machines for production runs and make adjustments
Perform deep cleans and changeovers
Complete quality checks
This full-time role pays $26.03 per hour on our Yellow Days 2-2-3 schedule. Hours are 4:45am-5:00pm.

Must be able to lift and load tires of all sizes: personal vehicle, truck and tractor tires.

Complete a daily report detailing temperature readings, dried material moisture, and perform density checks per specifications, and the average for the day, total mill hours, natural gas hours and estimate tonnage

Within a reasonable period, must develop a level of competency that supports trouble shooting equipment problems, and maximize equipment performances. During breakdowns works directly with Maintenance personnel to fix equipment in a timely manner.
* Reports and records all deviations from specified operating parameters and "critical control points," as established by HACCP and Kerry procedures.

Measure and cut aluminum to work instructions
Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to determine machining operations
Monitor machine operations to ensure quality and efficiency
Make adjustments to machine settings as necessary to maintain proper dimensions and tolerances
Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments to ensure conformance to specifications
Requirements:
Experience working in a production or fabrication environment is preferred
Basic reading, writing, and math skills as well as the ability to read blueprints, drawings, and work instructions
Ability to assemble and fabricate components
Understanding of tooling and tooling requirements for different machining operations
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality control
Reliability and proven attendance at past jobs

Physical Demands:

Under the direction of the Department Manager, the Tow Motor Operator ensures the production of company products at the highest quality and at the lowest possible cost, meeting company policies and procedures. The Tow Motor Operator will act in a manner that is consistent with Gordon Aluminum's Customer 1st Philosophy.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.
The general purpose of the Tow Motor Operator is to keep material and scrap moving to and from the fabrication area so production can be continuous. The Tow Motor Operator checks in delivery trucks, unloads the material, and keeps it organized in the yard inventory. They manage scrap trailers and work on a schedule to get pickups for various material scrap.
Coordinates and delivers material from stock locations to supply fabrication machining and bending needs.
Insures all work centers have the needed Materials/Supplies to ensure production is made on time and complete.
Assisting the Scheduler that we are producing product to the schedule, insuring a constant flow through Fabrication meeting customer demands.
Must move or transport materials from one department to another, manually or using material handling equipment (Forklift, hub-tech and crane certified).
Assist team lead (when necessary) with organization, quality verification, and quantity moves of finished goods prior to going out of fabrication.
Utilize technology to review job requirements, report production, and to produce labels or reports.
Maintain a clean, safe, organized work place.
Performs any and all other duties assigned by management

The general purpose of the Machine Operator is to operate machines to perform one or more machine functions on metal work pieces.
Maintaining safe work habits and a work area abiding by all safety policies
Lift and load work pieces into the machine
Takes the first part to QC Lab for first piece inspection approval (Must be able to operate Portage Table) or get assistants from Quality Tech
Sets approved first piece at the machine center for reference until job is completed
Checks all the dimensions and Process notes specified on the In-Process Inspection Report (Deburring countersink, or other minor operations to finish the piece)
Performs final piece count, print tag and enter production in Shop-Trak when the order is done
Performs required cleaning of machine and area
Performs any and all other duties assigned by management
