This role involves various tasks related to the creation, inspection, and shipment of custom-built products. Depending on the assignment, team members may: Utilize equipment ranging from compact tools to larger machinery in the fabrication process Participate in hands-on product construction as part of a production team Examine items to ensure they meet specified standards Modify components to accommodate hardware using precision tools Handle raw materials, including preparation and transportation Organize, wrap, and prepare completed goods for dispatch Perform general operational support tasks as needed Keep tools, equipment, and workstations clean and organized, while strictly adhering to safety practices Desired Background: Prior involvement in a production setting involving wood-based products such as cabinetry or architectural fixtures Experience working in a factory or logistics-related environment Familiarity with structural or construction-related materials Ability to carry out basic measurements and perform straightforward calculations

This position requires the ability to vary prescribed operating conditions as necessary to produce quality products. The operator is responsible for safety, product quality, plant cleanliness and overall efficiency of their assigned area and reports to the Shift Team Leader. Ensure that the products produced and shipped conform and meet quality standards and customer specifications. Monitor product standards, focusing on quality-control programs. Know, understand and conform to all quality processes for production efforts. Use basic math skills to perform quality control checks. Perform all aspects of the job safely and observing all safety regulations. Responsible for cleanliness and housekeeping of the production machinery and surrounding area in accordance with 5-S standards. Ensure a clean and safe workplace. Change and load recipe data for the material handling system. Change color, drain system and set let down percentage. Start/shut down a sheet extruder. Adjust extrusion process, speed, bank, and pressure settings. Read pressure setting to determine when the screen and breaker plate requires cleaning. Change out hot dies and set die temperatures to profile settings. Set roll stand gap and set the temperatures according to profile. Accept other responsibilities that may be assigned. Communicate issues to Team Leader, Maintenance and/or Management in order to facilitate corrections. Look for opportunities to improve current operations. Maintains a clean, safe, working environment according to 5s principles and department safety guidelines. Leads and participates in improvement activities within current department or other departments. 100% of the machinery jobs in the department at the required rate (cycle time) depending on assignment. Reads, understands, and interprets routings/drawings / BOM (Bill of Material) so that parts are produced to quality expectations. Rotates through the department workstations based on business need.
