Summary
The primary function of this position is assist operators and facilitate production, clean around production line and common areas, remove trash and debris to appropriate areas, observing all safety regulations and ensuring all GMP and quality standards are met to maintain the efficient flow of product through the production process.
Job Description
Review the work schedule, check equipment and supplies required to perform the work scheduled.
Report to assigned processing area and ensure all safety equipment is functioning properly and put on all required PPE and prepare for operations.
Set up packaging lines with clean totes, barrels, tubs and lined trash cans as needed.
Clean, maintain and sanitize production and common areas of production area, remove trash and debris as needed.
Sweep, squeegee, shovel, dustpan and place items in proper receptacles.
Manually fill glue pots and fill case blank magazines as appropriate.
Remove non-conforming product according to approved guidelines, rework product and / or discard into proper receptacles.
Hand assemble bulk totes, insert plastic liners, place tote on pallet and push / pull empty tote to bulk filler conveyor as required.
Position empty pallet to exit end of case sealer, manually remove and stack cases on pallets and wrap full pallets as needed.
Remove packing material, breakdown boxes and place in proper receptacles, stack cardboard and keep work area clear and clean.
Inspect work and work area, perform clean-up using proper tools and equipment and according to approved methods and procedures.
Basic & Preferred Qualifications
Must have good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Must be able to climb stairs and ladders.
Must be able to stand for long periods at a time.
Must have manual dexterity and ability to safely use cleaning equipment.
Must have the ability to lift 50 pounds.
Must be able to work in adverse conditions (i.e., extreme cold and heat, extreme wet, and within closed surroundings).
Must pass the Sanitation training.

Summary:
Organize, perform and be able to complete the following job functions as called on by the Plant Manager.
Job Functions:
Operate Bulk Feed manufacturing system
Climbing ladders and working at heights on top of facility
Perform scale weight test weekly
Dump bag ingredients into mixes as formula requires
Load - unload trucks in both load out area and in the warehouse
Wait on customers as needed
Insure bulk commodities are flowing from bulk bins
Refill Micro ingredient hoppers when needed
Perform daily inspections of Fork Trucks
Perform minor maintenance on equipment including lubrication and adjustments
Clean control room daily
Clean mill on regular schedule
Pull Bag orders for next day's bag truck deliveries
Perform minor maintenance on equipment including lubrication and adjustments
Clean mill on a daily schedule
Operate and monitor bulk receiving system
Test incoming ingredients, ie: Corn = % moisture % BCFM, properly record results
Unload inbound trucks as necessary
Unload rail cars as necessary
Insure bulk commodities are flowing into correct bulk bins
Perform daily bin inventory and rail car inventory
Perform daily inspect of Front End Loader
Clean receiving shed & office daily
Assist with any other tasks as requested or assigned by management
Requirements:
Physical and Education Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
Basic understanding of computers, math comprehension and previous plant environment is helpful
Mechanical aptitude in prior work history.
Must have the ability to climb ladders, lift up to 75 lbs, bend, kneel, stand for long periods, work in confined spaces, work with heights, and work long hours in harsh environments (hot, cold temperatures and a dusty conditions).
Exhibit good work habits, including excellent attendance and individual productivity
Requires the successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen, medical questionnaire and a background check.
