Position Summary Packaging Technicians play a vital role in the successful production of our beverages. They are expected to operate with integrity and a high level of focus in all positions on the production line to ensure we are sending the highest quality products possible to our customers. Schedule: 4x10 shift - Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, 4:00 PM-2:30 AM. General Duties/Responsibilities Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures. Conduct safety inspections of packaging equipment and work areas. Assist in the setup, breakdown, and cleaning of any of the bottling lines on packing days Work a variety of positions on the packaging lines throughout the day. Ensure that product being handled at your particular station meets standards of quality (caps fastened, liquid level appropriate, labels level, boxes secure) Fill and clean kegs when needed Daily cleaning and set-up following Good Manufacturing Practices Perform case flavor mixing as needed Thorough deep cleaning or special projects may be deemed necessary on an as needed basis Participate in training sessions that may include, but are not limited to safety protocols, operational procedures, skill development and compliance requirements. Food Safety and Quality Responsibilities Follow GMP policy when in the production facility and encourage your team to do the same. Understand our SQF policies relating to pest control, visitors, allergen management, and cleaning and sanitation. Demonstrate awareness of Management's Commitment to SQF and work towards Food Safety and Quality and help the company meet this commitment. If there is a problem that involves food quality and safety, report to the Quality Assurance Manager so that the CAPA (corrective action, preventative action) log may be filled out, the situation be investigated, and resolved with the goal of continuous improvement of food quality and safety. Key Responsibilities: Machine Operation: Operate and monitor automated bagging machines to package snack products in the required quantities and packaging formats. Set up, adjust, and calibrate the bagging machines according to product specifications and production needs. Ensure proper alignment of bags, sealing, and labeling as per quality standards. Quality Control: Inspect the bags and finished products for quality, ensuring they meet company standards for weight, appearance, and sealing. Reject any bags that do not meet quality standards and report issues to the Quality Control team. Maintain accurate records of quality checks and machine performance. Machine Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on bagging machines to prevent downtime. Troubleshoot machine malfunctions, including jams and sealing issues, and work to resolve them efficiently. Collaborate with maintenance technicians for more complex repairs or adjustments. Safety & Compliance: Follow all plant safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment. Ensure proper handling and disposal of packaging materials and waste. Comply with food safety regulations and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Production Efficiency: Monitor production rates and ensure that the bagging process runs smoothly to meet production goals. Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote efficiency and safety. Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments to address production issues. Documentation & Reporting: Complete and maintain accurate production logs, including machine settings, downtime, and any issues encountered. Report production data to supervisors and participate in shift handovers. Requirements: Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications or training in manufacturing machinery is a plus. Previous experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in food production or packaging. Basic mechanical aptitude and experience with bagging machines or similar packaging equipment. Knowledge of food safety standards, GMP, and safety protocols in a manufacturing setting. Ability to perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance on equipment. Strong attention to detail, with an emphasis on product quality and efficiency. Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. The Packaging Associate ensures that production assignments are met in a timely manner. * Hours: Monday-Friday 3:00PM-11:30PM * Salary: $15.00/hr + .75 cent shift differential * Work on assembly line that fills bottles, jars, etc. with product which requires a lot of repetitive tasks and job functions, from putting lids/caps on container to putting finished product in shipping case. * Label containers * Unfold cartons to prepare for production * Place tubes, inserts inside carton as it moves along conveyor * Prepare shipping cases by unfolding case and using tape dispenser to close bottom of box * Check for lot number/expiration date on container * Package all finished product and move to staging area. * Keep area clean and neat. * Notify lead person/supervisor of production issues. * Work in other departments or areas as needed. * Follow all cGMP procedures and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) Basic Qualifications: * High school diploma or equivalent * Consistent and punctual attendance. * Must be quality driven with good attention to detail but also be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
