Job Description Manufacturing / Production Technician: $19.25 - $25.00 Per hour DOE (Depending on Experience) Assists other team members with lay-up and fabricate composite aircraft parts. Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 5:00am - 3:30pm. OT as required. About The Role Robot operator will be responsible for ensuring robot is operating efficiently and effectively, create and or edit programs to meet customer and company goals. Essential Functions · Creates CNC programs using CAM/Nesting software. · Trains new employees on how to properly operate CNC machines and programs. · Creates spreadsheets for CNC machinery. · Assists manufacturing engineering as needed including creating technical drawings for jigs, fixtures, and plant layouts. Trains operators on use of new jigs and equipment as needed. · Communicates issues related to technical drawings back to the product engineering department. · Provides technical support to manufacturing employees by interpreting technical drawings, training operators on new parts and assemblies, answering questions related to assembly, or fabrication of trailer parts and assemblies. · Troubleshoots manufacturing quality problems to determine the root cause of problems. · Creates technical drawings with CAD software. · Improves processes and conditions to create an efficient and productive work environment. · Must understand the Engineering systems, for retrieval, filing and revising of drawings and Bills of Material. · Must be proficient with computers, CAD, CAM/Nesting, and basic office software. · Must have a grasp of product line knowledge. · Must demonstrate the desire & willingness to learn and acquire new technology. In this role, you will be responsible for the majority of the mold changes, mold setup, assembly line set up, troubleshooting, sampling new jobs and developing process improvements. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Reads set up and quality instructions and work orders for specifications of job set up, quality specification and work order standards. Starts up machine to obtain start up workpiece(s) and communicates with QA Supervisor or Shift Supervisor/QA to obtain approval of acceptable product per customer specifications. Documents start up process and/or process changes in the press set up notebooks and daily records machine cycle times. Troubleshoots the molding and Life Floor equipment by making the appropriate adjustments to the machine. Accurately and efficiently positions, aligns and bolts molds to molding machine and connects waterlines, mold heaters, temperature controllers and hydraulics as outlined in set up instructions. Sets up and cleans hoppers and other equipment to avoid contamination and to prepare raw materials for processing. Sets up fixtures, work tables, box holders, additive feeders and other appropriate equipment. Performs daily work station set ups and teardown including machine cleaning and auxiliary equipment set-ups. Troubleshoots equipment and make repairs as needed. Must keep work cells stocked. Responsible for the quality level of the raw materials (includes drying material) used in the molding process to assure quality product. Develops processing knowledge of materials, additives and dyes. Dismantle set up and puts equipment and tools in their proper storage area. Cleans, sprays and transports molds to racks for storage on a daily basis. Responsible for sampling of new jobs. Must understand and apply scientific molding principles. Must be trained in compression molding, compounding, injection & blow molding, and assembly areas. Reports needs for to appropriate personnel and/or immediate supervisor. Actively assists in maintaining production goals. Assists in weighing, counting, inventory reporting, packing and storage of finished product. Relieves operators for duties during rest periods. Responsible for keeping a clean and organized work area. Possess knowledge and assists in the implementation of SPC and various Statistical methods. Demonstrates a strong commitment to continuous improvement, Total Productivity, 5's principles by offering suggestions for improvement and playing an active role in the implementation of improvements.
