KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Operate material handling equipment such as stand up/sit down forklifts, push back racks, and electric pallet jack
Ensure timely loading and unloading of bulk ingredients, supplies, materials, finished goods, and small parcel delivery
Learn and utilize WMS (Warehouse Management System) for accurate data entry, shipping, and receiving of materials and finished goods
Maintain high quality standards when conducting and documenting carrier inspections (physical and systematic)
Use computers to input and maintain accurate data records in HMI (Human Machine Interface)
Deliver materials to production lines to ensure that operating lines are fully stocked
Stage and put away finished goods and materials, frequently in freezing conditions (-10 degrees)
Perform sanitation and quality control tasks on a routine basis.
Identify and troubleshoot machinery, process, and equipment issues and make corrections as needed.
Perform freezer clean-up process and put destroyed product into the ReConserve dock
Cross train within department to gain and improve skills, knowledge, and demonstrate leadership
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Prior forklift experience/certification is required.
Prior training on dock equipment (truck restraints, chocks, trailer stands, dock levelers, doors, etc.) preferred.
Ability to read, write, and interpret documents such as safety rules, Good Manufacturing Practices, and general instructions.
Good communication skills are required both verbally and written.
Ability to perform critical thinking skills to problem solve and resolve conflicts.
Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional & team-oriented environment

Position Summary
Coordinate off-loading with crafts and quality control for controlled materials. Place materials in proper area according to storage and handling lists to initiate storage. Change forms and document new location when necessary. Load, unload and move material within or near warehouse or worksite. Read work order or follow oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved. Load and unload materials onto or from trucks, trays, racks and shelves by hand or forklift. Be the primary trainer for new employees.

The Distribution Center provides the university with procurement, disposal, and logistic services, as well as processing and distribution of written communications to enable campus to pursue its mission of excellence in education, research, and community service! **What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be**
Moving & Hauling/Surplus Property
+ Assist in picking up Surplus Property from locations at CU Boulder and other campus locations.
+ Assist in moving furniture, computers, workstations, materials and boxes up to and greater than 75 lbs.
+ Assist in setting up and/or disassembling furniture, workstations, or equipment using a variety of hand tools and power tools.
+ Push, pull or lift items greater than 100 lbs. using equipment and/or devices designed for such applications.
+ Apply established, standard guidelines for the safe and ecient loading and unloading of items from the trucks after pickups and breaking down items for trash or recycle as needed.
+ By end of day, ensure truck is properly unloaded, dock is properly cleared of items, and equipment is properly stored.
+ Drive university vehicles as needed, including box trucks requiring a CMV.
+ Operate a variety of university vehicles and equipment including forklifts, box trucks, pallet jacks and other material handling equipment.
+ Load and transport trash and debris for the purpose of disposal.
+ Provide equipment, labor and logistics needs for special events.
Warehousing & Receiving
+ Assist in receiving items off trucks from drivers returning from surplus property pickups or other drop offs and check incoming items against AssetWorks paperwork to ensure tags are accurate, letting the Lead know if they are not.
+ Assist the Surplus Property Coordinator in determining the value of surplus items doing investigations as necessary and physically moving items to appropriate warehouse locations, including recycle and trash roll-off, electronics screening, furniture surplus, online sales, outside, etc.
+ Assist the Surplus Property Specialist, Logistics Coordinator, Online Sales Coordinator, and Electronics Screening staff to determine placement location of inventory for their areas and assisting in efforts to organize and maintain the back warehouse.
+ Operate fork lift as necessary to perform warehousing duties.
+ Physically move items to the recycle bin, trash dumpster, inventory shelves, or other storage areas as needed.
Other Duties
+ Assist with CU Boulder Surplus storefront during normal business hours or special events.
+ Assist in determining disposition and physically move items to and from the CU Boulder Surplus storefront.
+ Participate in process improvement efforts as requested.
+ Support the campus sustainability initiative by looking for process improvements to reduce waste, promote reuse, refurbishments and recycling.
+ Maintain safe work practices, participate in department safety meetings and complete assigned trainings.
+ Assist with taking pictures, gathering item information, or customer support, for online sales as needed.
+ Participate in cross training within Property Services or the Distribution Center.
+ Help with all other Property Services functions as needed.
+ Notify Supervisor or lead worker of safety incidents, near misses and potential hazards.
+ Support sustainability initiatives as directed by supervisors and managers.

Required Skills/Abilities: • Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record
• Must have the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
• Minimum three (3) years combined experience in inventory, shipping and receiving, material handling (strong preference for experience in a similar manufacturing environment)
• Multi-tasking is vital
• Experience in selection of and coordination with common carriers (UPS, FedEx, LTL and OTR truck lines for safe and compliant transport of goods intra- and inter-state
• Knowledge of US DOT rules and regulations for shipping industrial and hazardous materials
• Computer proficiency using Microsoft Word and Excel and e-mail program(s)
• Experience with ERP system (preferably SAP)
Education and Experience:• High school diploma or the equivalent
• On-site industrial forklift training and certification will be required within orientation & training period
Physical Requirements:• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• The ability to wear personal protective gear correctly when visiting client sites

* Loads and unloads materials onto or from trucks, pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand, forklift, hand truck and/or electric pallet jack, as appropriate.
