You will contribute by:
Receiving product, recording code dates & breaking down pallets of product according to appropriate receiving procedures
Utilizing forklifts, electric pallet jacks and/or clamp machines to move merchandise
Maneuvering pallets of product from the dock to correct aisles
Moving at a fast pace to prevent backlog of trucks and/or product
Performing equipment inspections & completing appropriate forms
Occasional safe lifting of varying case weight, shape, and height levels

Examine contents and compare with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy of incoming shipment. Record the correct count and pallet type for input upon completion of the PO.
Record shipment data into computer system, such as weight, charges, space availability, and damages and discrepancies, for reporting, accounting, and record-keeping purposes. Maintain accurate counts on inbound freight to insure appropriate warehouse storage availability.
Assist with maintaining an accurate inventory through cycle/directed counting. Research customer service issues including, but not limited to shortages, overages and damages and recommend appropriate response.
Monitor warehouse management system for open invoices.
Support the even flow from receiving to shipping and communicate issues and concerns. Identify and monitor high volume and high dollar items during shipping process.
Label all pallets to be stocked and verify accuracy of inbound freight received by comparing the purchase order with the bill of lading. Record discrepancies on bill of lading and inform clerk and/or appropriate management of damage and inventory shortages
Set up items and slots to ensure maximum efficiency for shipping and receiving. Recognize potential inventory hazards including, but not limited to storage of raw or over cooked product..
Operate current warehouse management system. Utilize necessary technology (e.g., voice, RF gun) to select product.
Audit pick/reserve slots and keep rotation of product accurate, as needed.
Verify absence of rodent/pest activity in all inbound shipments and document any record of activity
Perform all other daily/weekly/monthly tasks, not specifically mentioned herein, as described in the inventory control SOP program.

The Material Handler is focused on loading and unloading material for the Metal Warehouse and reports to the Department Supervisor.

Unload all aluminum extrusions
Loading and unloading metal racks of lineal aluminum material operating seated forklift

Move material to racks for storage and be sure locations are transferred in the computer by scanner or keyboard
Determine pulling order and print pick list based on job releases from Master Schedule. All pick items must be marked for final destination either S-saw, R wool pile/rubber, M-machine, P-accessory packing
Run large jobs through 2-3 man breaking team smaller orders through 1 man team
Check pick list and receipts for accuracy
Keep wool pile machines supplied with work and ensure jobs are completed in the right order to match production schedule
Organize shipments within warehouse

Position Purpose
A Material Handler will assist with goods in and goods out of TAIT facilities. This position will require the safe operation of both forklift and overhead crane routinely moving loads under 5ton and less than 30 foot in length. They will help support the demands of the operation with minimal guidance. It is a requirement of the position to obtain and maintain clearance to operate both forklifts and cranes.

Job Description
Hours: 2nd Shift
OPERATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Supplies Production with pre-staged material from incoming production trailers.
Responsibility to work and act safely in accordance with all policies.
Monitors the accuracy of the material flow process as it relates to WMS.
Inventory Control of all material being used in WMS as it is used.
Works with Production Supervisors/Team Members to ensure current material requirements are correct.
Ensures all material being used by production reflects accurately in WMS.
Keeps management informed of any material issues.
Prioritizes the production needs and readies necessary ingredients and packaging.
Ensure all partially used materials reflect accurate quantities in WMS before being returned to inventory.
Tracking material variance against master production pull sheet, PCED or MDE with material adjusted manually on spec sheets.
Tracking specific items to be determined at a later time.
Responsibility to work and act safely in accordance to all policies, procedures, and best practices with specific adherence to proper ergonomics, GMPs, food safety, use of machinery, chemical safety, forklift procedures, basic facility awareness.
Responsibility to report safety hazards to people or product and comply with all Good Manufacturing Practices
Real time WMS auditing/training of material being used within the production department.
Cycle count raw and finished goods when time allows or assistance as needed.
JBA comparison with WMS for future reconciliation by the proper team member.
Keep scan rate report at or above 98% goal rate.
Other duties as assigned by Management.
All employees must keep area clean and be responsible for cleaning during down time, during changeovers and at the end of a shift. Clean as you go to maintain cleanliness.
Ensure transfer of materials in the form of return trailers is completed correctly and accurately.
Must be able to tolerate potential allergens: peanut products, egg, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood and shellfish.
Position Metrics
Must not cause preventable downtime in the supply of materials to production. Zero permissible.
Must ensure accuracy of incoming materials for production consumption through verification.
Must not have more than five (5) allotted errors per quarter in the form of scanning and movement of product to and from inventory/lines/trailers/warehouse.
Must prevent product damage/loss when moving product from trailers and also in the supply to production.
Must ensure accurate transfer movement of material in return trucks from warehouse to outside storage facility.
Qualifications
Minimum Educational / Skill Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent
Basic computer skills
Good verbal/written communication skills
Above average math skills
Three years warehouse/shipping experience.
Certified to operate motorized material handling equipment

WHAT YOU'LL DO

ROLE SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Warehouse Coordinator, this position will operate the palletizers, stretch wrappers and associated equipment in the warehouse. Additionally, Palletizer Operators will also be responsible for performing all functions of Warehouse Operator, when required.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (*denotes essential job functions):
Responsible at all times for promoting a safety culture and awareness within their area. Support and adhere to all plant safety policies and procedures at all times.
Directs product workflow from stretch wrappers to storage locations.
Maintains adequate supply of empty pallets for palletizer utilization.
Coordinates changeovers of palletizers and stretch wrappers.
Coordinates end of work orders with Manufacturing Technical Line Operators and other operations personnel.
Ensures line clearance during changeover to new work order.
Mechanical operation, maintenance, troubleshooting and PM's on all palletizers, stretch wrappers, pallet labeling system (PLS) and associated equipment.
Supplies raw materials as needed to equipment in palletizer area, such as stretch wrap, labels, ribbon, etc.
Inspects pallets against quality standards and documents results.
Assists with training and certification program as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or GED required.
2 years of experience in distribution operations, including equipment, materials, workflow, WMS, and stand-up forklift experience in a fast-paced distribution environment required.
PREFERED EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Mechanical and technical ability, ability to troubleshoot, perform PM's, etc.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Strong interpersonal skills - ability to build positive relationships at all levels of the organization.
Strong communications skills - ability to communicate clearly and concisely in multiple media - verbal, written, etc.
Must have ability to communicate clearly in English - verbal and written.
