Position Overview This position serves as an important team member in the Learning Commons who primarily serves students in gateway English courses with basic writing skills. He/she works under the supervision of the Director and works closely with the Learning Commons team to tutor students on a daily basis. This person will serve as an Embedded Tutor for the freshman composition course and will serve students both inside the classroom and in traditional tutoring sessions outside of class. Tutoring sessions and group study sessions occur as both face-to-face and online consultations. This person also develops resources, markets our services to students and faculty, performs some clerical work, and assists the administrative staff with other special projects. We are looking for someone who not only excels at providing support for at-risk students but will also increase student usage from these students through building relationships with faculty and engaging students. Provides academic tutoring services for Psych Stats to students on an individual basis or in small groups. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Provide academic tutoring services by maintaining a weekly schedule of available hours for appointments. Attend tutor training workshops as required. Keep accurate records of tutoring appointments by filing tutoring reports. Maintain contact with professors in your subject of expertise in order to obtain pertinent materials for the ASC . Assist undergraduate students with assignments. Tutoring appointments are intended to assists students in becoming better students. Assist with additional duties as needed such as, covering the front desk, scheduling tutoring appointments, answering phones, organizing materials and maintaining information in the ASC .

Extra Duty Worker Additional Information: Show/Hide The TSI Bootcamp is designed as a high-energy, collaborative instructional experience where students will rotate through all five Mathematics instructors during the Saturday morning sessions. This dynamic and inviting learning environment will provide targeted, intensive instruction to effectively prepare students to take the TSI Mathematics Assessment on Tuesday immediately following the completion of the bootcamp sessions.
