Teachers for Academic Achievement for the After-School program or Within the School Day Tutoring, if available at the assigned school. Dates and time vary by school and student caseload. Exact number of Teachers as Academic Achievement Tutors will depend on the number and needs of qualifying students. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. * Develop and implement high quality programming * Provide direct instructional support to students with disabilities in the classroom or in a separate setting. * Implement and/or adapt modifications and accommodations to the environment or curricular materials * Collect data regarding students' goals and/or objectives. * Support the behavioral/social-emotional needs of children by utilizing pro-active, pro-social problem-solving skills. * Serve as the special education liaison, write, manage, implement, and monitor progress toward IEP goals * Administer and interpret standardized assessments, as well as formative assessments to drive instruction * Identify and support opportunities for meaningful inclusion * Support special education students by providing assistance with equipment (i.e. assistive technology). * Foster student independence while supporting individual needs. * Responsible for carrying out tasks that allow students to meet their IEP goals and appropriately function in the educational setting. * Tasks may include assisting with behavior, medical, social, academic or self-help interventions. * Work may include, but is not limited to assisting with personal hygiene, direct behavior services (such as ABA) and data collection. * Maintain proper confidentiality of student records. * Supporting the toileting and daily living skills of students can be an essential function of the job. * Communicate directly with parents to update them on the status of their child's progress towards IEP goals, behavior management and any other relevant information.
