The purpose of a Professional Tutor for the Tutoring and Learning Center is to provide tutoring and skill-building services for students individually, in small-group sessions, and/or in the academic labs in different subject areas. Primary Responsibilities
Tutor NKU students who request assistance in improving their skills, knowledge, or understanding of specific courses; maintain accurate records. [PLUS Tutors do NOT tutor writing or English composition courses; Writing Center consultants do this work.]
Maintain adequate progress with training and development. Other duties as needed.
Qualifications
REQUIRED:
Acquire signed faculty recommendation form and attach as "Letter of Recommendation" to this application. No separate letter of recommendation is required.

* 30 or more semester credit hours earned, including transfer/early admit work
* Grade of "A" or "A-" in course(s) tutored
* Enrollment in 6 or more semester credit hours during time of employment;
* Maintain GPA of 3.25 or higher
All new student workers must be able to come to campus to complete new hire paperwork.
Any candidate who is offered this position will be required to go through a pre-employment criminal background check as mandated by state law.
