About the Role
As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of equipment throughout the plant. You will perform routine and preventative maintenance, troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, and support new installations and upgrades across the facility. Your work ensures that production runs smoothly and that both safety and food quality standards are upheld every day.
This position requires quick, accurate problem-solving, strong technical ability, and a commitment to maintaining a high standard of equipment reliability.

Statement of Job
Perform routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance on plant equipment and facilities to ensure reliable operation. The Maintenance Technician will troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems; support equipment installations and modifications; and work closely with production, quality, and maintenance leadership to maintain plant uptime and equipment integrity.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Perform electrical and mechanical troubleshooting of food processing and auxiliary equipment.
Execute maintenance tasks safely and efficiently while maintaining food safety.
Communicate effectively with production and quality teams regarding equipment status.
Perform routine and preventive maintenance on all equipment and facilities at the McCain Plover plant.
Maintain and take accountability for all assigned equipment and tools.
Coordinate daily duties with the Maintenance Supervisor.
Provide availability for emergency repair of critical equipment.
Communicate maintenance concerns, operability issues, and repair needs with the Maintenance Supervisor.
Perform breakdown, preventive, and predictive maintenance on food process equipment.
Maintain accountability for work order completion, tools, equipment uptime, and reliability.
Document repair records, work orders, downtime events, and service needs.
Use computer systems to input work order data and locate parts.
Work collaboratively in a team environment and handle fast-paced, complex equipment scenarios.
Follow all GMP, safety, and PPE guidelines, including fire-rated uniform requirements.
Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Two-year technical college degree preferred.
Experience:
Minimum 2 years working knowledge of food processing equipment; 5 years preferred.
Electrical and mechanical knowledge equivalent to a technical certificate program required; Electromechanical degree or Journeyman status preferred.
PLC programming and robotics experience preferred.
Working knowledge of Allen Bradley PLCs, variable speed drives, servo controls, and process controllers required.
Basic metalworking, TIG welding, and metal fabrication skills required.
Experience with lathe, mill, shear, brake, and ironworker equipment is a plus.

Knowledge of and experience working with machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance; programmable logic controllers and Human Machine Interfaces (HMI's); single and three phase circuits, solid state, servos, and AC/DC motors and drives; OSHA standards and equipment maintenance required.
Knowledge of arithmetic and structure and content of the English language to include the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition required.
Ability to perform routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed; to make program changes/additions; monitor machine operation to ensure machines are working properly; repair machines or systems using the needed tools; determine causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it; control operations of equipment or systems; use logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, and approaches to problem solving; and manage time and projects required.

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
Perform heavy-duty truck and trailer maintenance and repairs to both company and federal regulations ( standards, guidelines ). Technician 1 is an entry level opportunity that will require you to perform basic mechanical repairs.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
* Perform routine and scheduled maintenance services such as oil changes, lubrications and filter replacements.

* Repair, reline, replace, and adjust brakes (air, hydraulic, electric and brake accessories).
* Test drive vehicles and test components using proper equipment.
* Troubleshoot and repair, exhaust systems, steering systems, air conditioning.

* File, grind, sand and smooth filled or repaired surfaces, using power tools and hand tools.
* Maintain a clean and organized workspace.

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
Perform heavy-duty truck and trailer maintenance and repairs to both company and federal regulations ( standards, guidelines ). Technician 1 is an entry level opportunity that will require you to perform basic mechanical repairs.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform routine and scheduled maintenance services such as oil changes, lubrications and filter replacements.
Maintain 80% productivity
Limit comebacks to zero
Repair, reline, replace, and adjust brakes (air, hydraulic, electric and brake accessories).

Position Responsibilities:
Complete all service jobs that are assigned to you.
Communicate with the Road Lead Technician on any unusual service problems encountered or for any technical assistance needed.
Attend service training classes offered to maintain knowledge on new products, or for refreshers on products not encountered too often.
Complete and submit all paperwork daily for jobs worked on (timecards, maintenance reports with customers' signature).
Communicate with dispatcher and/or service office as to status of jobs and availability for new jobs.
Identify jobs that should be sent to our shop for repair (due to complexity or safety reasons) and recommend they be sent in.
Develop and maintain relationship with territory sales representatives to keep them informed of sales opportunities you might see.
