Assists in a variety of tasks related to dining (escorting residents, set-up and clean-up, serving meals) 7. Responsible for participating in and supporting the resident centered activity program. Completes required written documentation concerning resident care and activities during shift 8. Is a resident advocate at all times 9. Follows agency policies concerning confidentiality 10. Uses tactful, diplomatic communication in potentially sensitive or emotionally charged situations and follows up with appropriate staff, resident or others regarding reported complaints, problems and concerns. 11.     First Choice Health Centers is looking for a Medical Assistant to work alongside our Providers in a variety of specialties providing direct care services including patient engagement and care coordination within the communities of East Hartford. This position is accountable for independently performing a full range of tasks in delivery of patient care in an outpatient setting. Minimum Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required: Experience with an electronic health record Knowledge of medical terminology Experience and Training: Graduate of an Accredited Medical Assistant Program Certified Medical Assistant is a plus Preferred 1 + years of MA experience BLS Certification Standard Job Duties: The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and support within our multispecialty practice Act as a member of the care team, including preparing patients to be seen by collecting and recording clinical information as per process, responding to patient phone calls and documenting patient interactions Manage patients according to approved protocols and consistent with appointment and scheduling guidelines Document all patient interactions and other clinical activities accurately and timely in the electronic health record Schedule tests, treatments and follow up visits on behalf of patients, assist patients with identifying suitable outside resources and other services where appropriate Monitor task list (telephone encounters) in order to respond in a timely manner, follow up on overdue orders and monitor status of critical referrals Adhere to all patient safety standards and infection control guidelines Assist care team to assure smooth office operation and delivery of excellent service through teamwork.
