Ensures all laboratory procedures comply with safety regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment and adherence to the Laboratory Safety Plan. Communicates effectively with peers, supervisors, and other healthcare staff, providing timely updates on unusual patient results, instrument malfunctions, and quality control issues. Assists with proficiency testing and data collection required for laboratory accreditation and regulatory compliance. Collects chain-of-custody urine drug screens and performs phlebotomy duties as required to support patient care needs. Collaborates with team members to ensure shift duties and department responsibilities are completed efficiently and accurately. Performs other duties as assigned.
