Lead Medical Technologist Department: Blood Bank Schedule: Full Time Assigned responsibilities: Reviews and evaluates daily and periodic Quality Control testing and procedures. Ensures performance of periodic instrument maintenance and departmental quality control procedures. Coordinates CAP survey performance and reporting. Assists with creation of validation plans as may be required for equipment or procedures, and ensures completion of validation package for final review. Performs Meditech validation exercises as may be required with system upgrades or site specific changes. Ensures department is prepared for planned Meditech downtime. Immunology / Serology: Testing blood and other samples for the presence of viral and bacterial disease by detecting antibodies (AB) or antigens (AG). What You'll Need to Succeed: You are able to work the overnight shift Veterinary or Human Laboratory Skillset is a must to be considered for this position Skillset in Chemistry, Hematology, Serology or Urinalysis Must have excellent pipetting skills You possess a High School diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. A 2-, 3- or 4-year degree in a Science-related field is preferred. It is not required to work in our lab, but if you were a Veterinary Technician (RVT, LVT, CVT) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT or MT), this experience and education would be a plus. You will have experience setting up, running, and reading lab tests, and operating laboratory equipment (microscopes, pipetting and / or clinical diagnostic analyzers).
