Qualifications

Must possess manual dexterity and fine motor skills. Able to stand, walk, and sit for long periods of

This role plays a vital part in delivering accurate, timely diagnostic results through high-complexity real-time PCR testing and other laboratory procedures that directly impact patient care.
The Lab Technician is responsible for performing high-complexity molecular diagnostic testing, including real-time PCR, while ensuring compliance with CLIA regulations, quality standards, and MainStreet Family Care values. This position supports providers by producing reliable laboratory results that enable efficient diagnosis and treatment.
Key Responsibilities
Perform CLIA high-complexity, real-time PCR testing in accordance with established protocols and regulatory requirements
Collect, prepare, process, and analyze patient specimens
Accurately document laboratory results in the electronic medical record
Perform quality control procedures, calibration, and routine maintenance on laboratory equipment
Ensure compliance with CLIA, OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control standards
Prepare and manage specimens for internal and external testing as needed
Monitor laboratory inventory, reagents, and expiration dates
Identify, troubleshoot, and report testing discrepancies, equipment issues, or quality concerns
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment
Collaborate with providers and clinical staff to support efficient operations

Minimum Qualifications
Medical laboratory certification, or a Bachelor's degree in chemical, biological, clinical, or medical laboratory science that is compliant with CLIA standards.
Two (2) years of clinical laboratory experience, including molecular or PCR-based testing
Preferred Qualifications
Five (5) years of clinical laboratory experience
Experience performing high-complexity real-time PCR testing in a regulated laboratory environment
Experience in urgent care, primary care, or high-volume clinical settings
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
Proficiency in real-time PCR and molecular diagnostic techniques
Knowledge of high-complexity laboratory testing standards and CLIA requirements

Schedule
