AHL HealthCare Group is seeking a part-time or full-time MentalHealth Rehabilitation Worker (MHRW) or Behavioral Health Practitioner (BHPR), also known as MentalHealth Practitioner, to join our team at our IRTS facility. The job title and pay rate will be based on qualifications outlined below. This program is close to the UMD campus so this would be a great opportunity for students, or anyone looking for employment in this area of Duluth. BHPR's work to support our residents in various ways.

Compensation:
$19.00-25.00/hour depending on experience and education
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Demonstrate a working knowledge of consumer(s) history, skills, vulnerabilities, support plans and emergency procedures
Record keeping, reporting requirements and maintaining confidentiality
Ability to create and follow ITP plans set up for clients and uses creative ways to encourage participation
Effectively assist clients and train in areas such as symptom management, employment, budgeting, organizing, medical appointments scheduling, and meal planning.
Objectively and professionally document progress with the client at the end of your shift
Providing assistance with paperwork that is pertinent to continuation of services, such as Social Security paperwork
Provide support and supervision as defined in each ITP plan, using therapeutic interventions, while ensuring consumer safety
Assisting with setting up transportation services or learning how to utilize public transportation
Regularly travel in the community and transporting recipients
Qualifications for All IRTS Staff:
Ability to multitask and strong communicator
Enjoys conducting groups and is an effective team member
Ability to pass MVR, maintain a valid driver's license, insurance, and maintain background study clearance
Prior IRTS Experience Preferred
Qualifications of a MentalHealth Rehabilitation Worker:

High School Diploma, Associates Degree or two years post-secondary education or a total of 15 semester hours AND
30 hours of training in the following: recipient rights, recipient-centered ITP, Behavioral terminology, MI, co-occurring, psychotropic meds, functional assessment, community resources, adult vulnerability, and recipient confidentiality

3 years personal life experience serious & persistent MI

Responsibilities
The Children's MentalHealth Practitioner works as part of an integrated treatment team, adhering to standards to serve children diagnosed with mental illness by doing the following:
Skills Training with the practice of specific behavioral skills that have not been developed or that can replace maladaptive skills developed due to the emotional disturbance. Skills training does not include cognitive or emotional skills worked on in psychotherapy.
Developing individualized, person-centered treatment plans
Implementing the interventions identified in the plan
Maintaining detailed records of all activities

Required Qualifications:
Has the ability to pass MVR check, maintain a valid driver's license and vehicle insurance.
Mentalhealth practitioners are people who provide services to children with emotional disturbance. Mentalhealth practitioners need to qualify in at least one of the ways described in paragraphs (A) to (D):
(A) Practitioner is qualified through relevant coursework by completing at least 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours in Behavioral Sciences or related fields and:
Has at least 2,000 hours of supervised experience in the delivery of services to adults or children with:
Mental illness, substance use disorder, traumatic brain injury or developmental disabilities and completes 30 hours of additional training on mental illness, recovery and resiliency, mentalhealth de-escalation techniques, co-occurring mental illness and substance abuse, and psychotropic medications and side effects;
or
Is fluent in the non-English language of the ethnic group to which at least 50 percent of the practitioner's clients belong, and completes 30 hours of additional training on mental illness, recovery and resiliency, mentalhealth de-escalation techniques, co-occurring mental illness and substance abuse, and psychotropic medications and side effects;
or
Has completed a practicum or internship that required direct interaction with adults or children served, and was focused on behavioral sciences or related fields;
or
Is working in a MHCP-enrolled adult or children's day treatment program.
(B) Practitioner is qualified through work experience if the practitioner has either:
At least 4,000 hours of experience in the delivery of services to adults or children with:
Mental illness, substance use disorder,
or

About the job:
Provide effective individual psychiatric care via telehealth in an outpatient setting.
Provide direct patient care, conduct patient assessments, develop treatment plans, and prescribe medications as necessary.
Ensure that all patient care is delivered in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
We are not affiliated with any hospitals or clinics; enjoy the autonomy of practicing in the best interest of the patient without corporate administrative interference.
We are growing in the form of teams composed of multiple therapists and a prescriber. With onboarding, you meet multiple eligible psychotherapists looking for additions to their team and a match is made.
We emphasize regular staffing with your collaborating therapists, at least monthly, to discuss patient cases or clinical topics.
Clinical work is performed from home, days and hours are per the clinician's choosing (this includes mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, holidays, etc.). Clinical team meetings are also virtual.

Responsible for complying with federal and state statutes, upholding ethical standards established and implied by the profession, DHS regulations, etc.
Participate in weekly treatment team meetings to review and update client progress notes.
Initiate and maintain ongoing communication with client referrals, probation, and social service agencies, etc.
Complete discharge summaries for each client at the conclusion of treatment services.
Required Skills & Experience (Minimum Qualifications):
Bachelor's degree required.
Current alcohol and drug counseling license in the state of Minnesota.
Complete continuing education courses in current treatment concepts and methods as required by the state of Minnesota to maintain alcohol and drug counselor license.

Typical Job Duties:
Implementing and following the person-centered, positive practice behavior support plan for individuals to maintain or improve areas of independent living such as budgeting, maintaining services, meal prep/planning, employment, etc.
Meet or exceed direct client time target of 90% with no more than 10% indirect time (driving, training, etc.)
Demonstrate a working knowledge of consumer(s) history, skills, vulnerabilities, support plans and emergency procedures
Provide support and supervision as defined in each support plan, using therapeutic interventions, while ensuring consumer safety
Encourage local community setting/resources by remaining within a 10 miles radius of the clients' home
Regularly travel in the community and transport clients
Ability to develop and maintain professionally appropriate and respectful therapeutic relationships with each client and the client's family
Maintain a clean, professional, and pleasant appearance for effective role modeling to the residents
Requirements for All Applicants:
You must be at least 18 years of age and be able to read, write, and speak English in a fluent manner
Driver's license with access to working vehicle to transport clients & ability to pass MVR check
The ability to pass a MN DHS background study

Additional Requirements for Counselor II Level:
A Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a related field preferred
OR an Associate's Degree in a Social Services Discipline
OR two years (4,174 hours) of supervised experience working with individuals who exhibit challenging behaviors as well as co-occurring mental disorders or neurocognitive disorder

Our Acute Behavioral Services (ABS) group homes support individuals with complex mentalhealth and behavioral needs. Many of the people we serve have experienced frequent crises, hospital stays, or legal involvement. They may have a history of failed placements and need a highly structured environment to succeed.
Our homes are specially designed for safety, and our approach is consistent, person-centered, and focused on helping individuals reach their goals while maintaining safety for everyone. Due to the challenging nature of this work, staff receive training in behavioral support and crisis response, including the use of manual restraints when necessary.
Please note: This role may involve exposure to verbal aggression or difficult behaviors. We provide strong training and team support to help you succeed.

Ensure compliance with Department of Human Services (DHS) 245G Statutes including timely documentation completion, clinical thoroughness and accurate billing for services provided. Conduct chart audits as requested.
Understand the Grievance Policy to assist clients in navigating the process to resolve grievances at the lowest level in a timely manner and document accordingly.
Maintain knowledge of and apply American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) Criteria. Appropriately diagnose clients using the DSM -5.Provide screening and assessment through SUD Evaluations/Assessments and required documentation.
Provide intake and orientation to programming and required documentation.
In conjunction with the client, create and monitor an individualized treatment plan based on client's needs, language, reading skills, cultural background and strengths.
