The MentalHealth Clinician provides professional mentalhealth assessment, counseling, crisis intervention, and treatment planning services to individuals in a correctional environment. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, the MentalHealth Clinician supports rehabilitation and recovery by addressing behavioral health needs in a secure correctional facility.
MENTALHEALTH CLINICIAN (LCSW, LPCMH, PsyD) ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Performs individual and group therapeutic interventions as appropriate
Assists in planning and implementing the goals and objectives of programs and projects
May direct special projects as requested
Participates in and conducts in-service trainings/education, as well as assists in the orientation of new staff
Documents appropriately in the Electronic Health Record
Attends training and meetings as required

Must have a graduate degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or a related field.

Key Responsibilities:
Conduct individual and group psychotherapy sessions for patients in a subacute or skilled nursing facility.
Assess, diagnose, and treat a wide range of emotional and behavioral health conditions, including depression, anxiety, adjustment disorders, and cognitive decline.

Through DGS, clients and families have access to outpatient counseling, group therapy, parent-child interaction therapy, and school-based services. Our community-based service lines serve youth and families who require a more intense therapeutic protocol. DGS' 24-hour statewide Mobile Response and Stabilization Services (MRSS) dispatches skilled crisis intervention clinicians to provide immediate care to children experiencing behavioral health crises. Therapeutic options are available for a wide range of diagnoses including depression, anxiety, mood disorders, eating disorders, traumatic stress-related disorders, and suicidal ideation. Summary/objective
Under the supervision of the Crisis Coordinator, the CARES Clinician will provide screening and assessment and intensive therapeutic intervention services to youth and families experiencing high intensity psychological and emotional problems (ie. aggressive and defiant behavior due to problems with emotion regulation, suicidal/homicidal ideation, plans, or attempts, family conflicts, etc.) while maintaining safety and implementing therapeutic treatment plans in a community-based setting. A behavioral health organization is seeking an experienced Child & Family Therapist for a 6-month assignment providing care within their youth residential treatment program. Leveraging trauma-informed expertise, the ideal candidate will lead individual and group therapy, partner with care teams, and help clients heal.
Compensation: $28.00 - $35.00 / HR
Location: Montgomery County, Pennsylvania
Schedule: Tuesday - Friday from 10 am - 8 pm
Responsibilities:
• Conducting individual and family therapy
• Consulting with multidisciplinary treatment teams
• Developing customized treatment plans
• Documenting timely clinical notes
• Educating staff on therapeutic frameworks
• Responding to crisis situations
• Testifying in court proceedings
• Coordinating care with community providers
Qualifications:
• Master's degree in social work or counseling
• 2+ years' experience with seriously emotionally disturbed youth
• Knowledge of trauma-focused modalities
• Strong clinical assessment and intervention skills
• Collaborative team player
• Certification in TF-CBT, CBT preferred
