Napier-Dunnings is currently both the Chief Communications Officer of Michigan Public Health Institute (MPHI) and the Senior Advisor to Michigan Food & Farming Systems (MIFFS). This joint position, established in April of 2016, is directly connected to the missions of both organizations.

MPHI is a non-profit institute advancing population health through public health innovation and collaboration, Working with You to Promote Health!

MIFFS is also a non-profit organization connecting beginning and historically underserved farmers to each other and to resource opportunities, Supporting the Many Faces of Farming!

Both organizations align with Michelle’s overall professional career. She has worked with governmental agencies, educational institutions, businesses, and non-profit collaboratives tackling challenges in food systems, healthcare, and organizational development.

Michelle began her professional life as an educator and actress. She served as the Director of Education at Michigan State University's Wharton Center for Performing Arts for ten years. From 1995-2003, she was a senior facilitator and minority owner of Project Innovations, Inc., a Michigan-based facilitation firm. In 2003, Michelle founded Pearl Partners LLC (www.pearlpartners.net) with the mission of helping others create energized, sustainable initiatives through strategic planning and coaching.

She has been with MIFFS since April of 2012 and works to connect all of her previous networks to the changing world of regional and equitable food systems.

Michelle also co-authored Trust-Building: An Experiential Approach (2007), with her mother, Pauline Napier.
