Meals on Wheels
Midland Care's Meals on Wheels program in Topeka, Kansas, is a vital service that delivers hot, nutritious meals and wellness-checks to homebound seniors and individuals with disabilities in Shawnee, Jefferson, and Douglas counties. The program prioritizes individuals at high nutritional risk and is not income-based, allowing anyone who meets the age or homebound criteria to participate. With the help of hundreds of volunteers who deliver meals Monday-Friday, Midland Care supports independence, reduces social isolation, and ensures older adults receive balanced meals in the comfort of their homes.
Site Manager Role
The purpose of this position is to provide oversight of the designated Meals on Wheels congregate site. This includes preparing the site for clients, welcoming clients, passing out meals, encouraging socialization amongst clients, taking reservations, and cleaning up after the meal.
**This position is located in Meriden, KS **
Part-Time
Monday-Friday, 9am-12:30pm
Key Responsibilities:
Assures excellent customer service is provided.
Responsible for day-to-day congregate site operations. This includes setting up meal service area with plastic ware, drinks if applicable and donation box.
Ensures that required supplies have been ordered timely and appropriately accounted for.
Oversees the taking of reservations and calling in of orders.
Ensures that all participants have an up-to-date Uniform Program Registration (UPR) form on file.
Assures that all meal routes are delivered by volunteers/staff.
Qualifications
Required
Minimum education of high school graduation or equivalent GED.
Capacity to communicate with people representing vast differences of professional, cultural, social and economic backgrounds and ages.
Ability to keep records and prepare reports with some knowledge of accounting.
Lifting of bulk food trays is required.
Must have a current Kansas or Missouri driver's license and a good driving record.
Must meet Midland Care driving standards and have current auto insurance and continue to meet insurability requirements throughout employment.
Must be patient and have a sincere desire to work with senior citizens.
Must demonstrate respect for persons of all economic backgrounds, social status, race, religion, sexual orientation, and nationality.
Physical Demands
Work involves standing and walking.
Work may include pushing, pulling, or carrying objects.
Must be physically able to lift bags used for transporting meals.
Must be able to lift 25 pounds no more than 25% of the time.

Perform assessments and develop individualized treatment plans

Qualifications
Required: Graduate of an accredited entry-level program in physical therapy approved by the American Physical Therapy Association, The Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation of the American Medical Association, the council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association and the American Physical Therapy Association, or other equivalent organizations approved by the Secretary, Bachelor's degree in physical therapy. Current unrestricted Kansas State license to practice as a physical therapist. Must possess a valid Kansas Driver's License, in force automobile liability insurance and maintain a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) that meets organization's insurability standard as defined by Midland policy. Availability of reliable transportation is required for this position. One year of professional experience required, minimum one year experience working with the frail and elderly population, home care or geriatric experience.
