About the Role:
The MRI Technologist performs routine and specialized imaging procedures and ensures high-quality diagnostic images. Responsibilities include preparing patients, assisting radiologists, operating and maintaining MRI equipment, and adhering to established safety, quality, and customer service standards. Additional duties may include quality assurance and maintaining continuing education requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine and advanced MRI procedures
Prepare and position patients for imaging
Assist radiologists as needed
Operate and maintain MRI equipment
Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
Provide high-quality patient care
Participate in continuing education and maintain required credentials
Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited radiography school or hospital-based program
NYS license required
ARRT or ARMRIT certification required (must obtain ARRT MR certification within 1 year of hire if not already held)
BLS certification through AHA (or completion within 90 days of hire)
MRI Safety Certification Level 2 (required annually)

This is an on-site, permanent position located at 312 W 34th St., New York, NY 10001, United States. Our clinic operates Monday through Saturday from 6:30 a.m. to 7:15 p.m. local time (Tuesdays begin at 6:15 a.m.), with hours subject to change based on clinic demand.
This role requires that you must be within commuting distance of 45 minutes

What You'll Do
Operation of MRI Scanner: you are responsible for patient safety, the performance of high quality Prenuvo Scans, performing and remaining current on Prenuvo Scan protocols
Ordering supplies, cleaning equipment, and scan room preparation
Troubleshooting equipment issues and reporting them to the relevant department when necessary
Utilize ancillary tools and equipment appropriately: PACS and other software systems
Image Post Processing: responsible for post processing images including transfer of images to PACS, ensuring all post processing steps are complete
Leadership: proven ability and interest in training new technologists in all facets of the role including patient safety, room preparation, effective communication, image acquisition, time management and post processing
What You'll Bring
A strong base knowledge of MRI imaging and patient safety
Licensed with the appropriate board: ARMRIT or ARRT (MR) (or equivalent) depending on the location of the role you are applying for
BLS - Basic Life Support
Completion of an accredited Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) program or radiologic technology program
Clinical work experience of at least 2 years
You can understand, perform and accurately complete all examinations on MRI equipment, following clinic practices and procedure
Proficiency running advanced MR studies independently
Ability to work with a multi-disciplinary team and the drive to thrive in a high-pressure, fast paced environment
Demonstrate patient care skills with an ability to explain complex medical terms and procedures in a manner that is easily understood by a non-medical audience
A willingness to learn new skills
Strong interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication skills
A customer focused attitude and presentation
Pride in your work with an ability to critically assess image quality

Job Description:
MRI Technologist
Location: New Hyde Park, NY
Hours/Days: Three days per week, 7am-8pm
Organization: New York Imaging (NYI)
Key Responsibilities
As an MRI Technologist at NYI, your responsibilities will include:
Maintain and adjust imaging equipment.
Calibrate MRI (MRA) consoles and peripheral hardware.
Operate injectors with proficiency.
Ensure patient safety using aseptic injection techniques and appropriate pre-screening.
Address patient concerns throughout the procedure.
Flush IV lines post-contrast injection.
Accurately follow physician orders for imaging areas.
Prepare patients for procedures, including medical history review and answering procedural questions.
Shield exposed areas of the body to protect the patient during imaging.
Attach physiological monitoring leads as necessary.
Provide headphones for patient comfort.
Properly position patients for imaging.
Maintain accurate patient medical records.
Perform other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
Qualifications:
Associate Degree
Current state license
CPR certification
Minimum of one year of continuous MRI experience
Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred)
