Key Responsibilities: * Design active fire protection systems, including automatic sprinklers, standpipes, fire pumps, and fire alarm/mass notification systems. * Prepare construction drawings, specifications, narratives, and Basis of Design (BOD) documents using AECOM templates and standards. * Develop hydraulic calculations in accordance with NFPA standards, UFC 3-600-01, and project-specific criteria. * Support the design of special hazard systems (e.g., clean agent, water mist, foam, explosion control) as applicable. * Conduct code reviews in accordance with the IBC, IFC, NFPA (13, 14, 20, 72, 2001, etc.), and UFC standards. * Participate in multi-discipline coordination meetings and collaborate closely with mechanical, electrical, structural, and architectural teams. * Review contractor submittals and RFIs, and provide construction-phase support, including field inspections and acceptance testing observation. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program and minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. * Familiarity with NFPA standards and the International Building and Fire Codes * U.S. citizenship due to the nature of the work * Valid driver's license Preferred Qualifications: * Experience with Revit and AutoCAD * Experience designing sprinkler and/or fire alarm systems Additional Information Sponsorship for US work authorization is not offered now on in the future for this position.
