Remove high spots, slag and cuts bevels, using hand files, portable grinders, chipping hammers and cutting & plasma torch.

Information
Wright State University Lake Campus nursing students have the opportunity to work as a Nurse Extern, providing direct and indirect patient care under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse.
Patient care settings could potentially consist of one of the following: Acute Care and Emergency Medicine.
Hours of Job
Temporary Full Time - 36 hours per week
Hours are 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. or 7:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m.
Every Third Weekend
Duties and Key Responsibilities
Complete patient assessments and document appropriately in patient records.
In coordination with the supervising RN, can formulate the patient plan of care.
Use evidenced based practice to guide patient care.
Assist with formulating a teaching plan based on identified learning needs.
Establishes a therapeutic relationship with patients and families.
Follows hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
Completes assignments and workload in a timely fashion.
Provides prompt and courteous service to customers of the department.
Demonstrates appropriate problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Communicates appropriately with interdisciplinary team.
Requirements
Student extern will work the designated schedule with an assigned preceptor, following their nurse preceptor work schedule
Weekend rotation is every third weekend
Must attend all required clinical experiences and course seminars for Summer Term (May 2026 through July 2026)
Education/Certifications
Currently enrolled in an accredited RN school of nursing. Successfully completed all junior level nursing courses or within one year of graduation (entering or completing senior level studies in nursing program), in good academic standing with Nurse Faculty recommendation.
Certification - Recommended, but not required to have one of the following.
Completion of state tested certificate program
Nursing assistant certification
